Rumour - Jay McEveley

by loyalroyal4life » 12 Apr 2009 11:17

From 1 of the trusted papers this morning:

Reading boss Steve Coppell is planning a £1.5million swoop for Derby defender Jay McEveley.

Not sure if SSC will even be with us to make another signing

Even it this was true, do we really think the club will grind to a halt when Coppell leaves. The club will still make plans for the future if he leaves or not. Coppell has not comitted one way or the other yet over his future plans, so why not put out continued early feelers on players.

£1.5 mill is not a bank breaker for RFC.

Deathy ...we wont spend that in the Championship.

We've spent that already + about another million on the agreed fee to bring back Kitson.

It's a good job too because he's been a BRILLIANT addition and not wasted our funds or time at all.

LOL @ any rumours at this point in the season. No-one knows what league we are gonna be in, how much we have to spend and who is gonna be in charge to spend that money.

(Apart from JM who knows we will be in championship and that Iain Dowie will be spending 500k on Cork Citys Finest)
