Swindon safe from relegation now

There's no way we'll buy him back. And, personally, if I was him, I wouldn't want to come back anyway.

Cox made the right decision for his career IMHO, far better to play and score at a league below, than to sit in a reserve team, which barely ever seems to play, with the odd cup game thrown in, cups which the manager and club dont give a toss about.

Cox would still not be in out team if he was here, he might have had the odd game, but has done good at Swindon, and jolly good luck to him I say(in an RL voice there)

I'd agree. We wouldn't buy him back and he's found his level so he'd be daft to come back.

Fair chance that he'll get a move to the Championship somehow next season - one of the promoted sides possibly ? Will be an interesting test for him...

My post was at half-time after he had bagged 2 and, as you can see, was concluded with a question mark.

Yep, great move by him and 100% the right thing to do for his career. Nice to see a player who actually wants to play week in week and prove himself rather than sit on his arse not getting a game but picking up his wages

Not sure about finding his level

I reckon scoring 30+ goals in a side fighting relegation might just indicate he is playing below his level and its almost a certainty he will get a move up a division this summer. There have been rumours that some big clubs are looking at him this summer

We'll know then.

But he's gone from not being able to get games in the Championship to getting games and scoring at a lower level. So on the face of it he's found the level at which he can succeed.
Plenty of players look like world beaters at one level but then do nothing if they step up - Freddy Eastwood as a recent example, Nugent....

I hope he does move up and do well. And a shame he didn't do it for us for whatever reason.

He was what 18 when he was last with us in the Prem?

Change that to not being able to get into a Premiership team and you might have a point, but it all depends if you think he should or shouldnt have got a game in a side that couldnt score a goal before he left on how you view his level. It could well be he has had the season of his life or that whatever move he makes doesnt quite work out but that doesnt mean he hasnt the ability to play at a higher level than he is now
