Rosenior on his way out?

by Ian Royal » 07 May 2009 12:19

I've heard a whisper from a possibly reliable source that Liam may be on his way out of the club this summer.

I've been begged not to name any names - even of Liam but bugger that, I've never had a rumour to post before and if it's true I want to be able to say told you so in a few months time. 8)

Personally I wouldn't be very upset, his temperament is unreliable, he is not anywhere near as good as he thinks he is and his passing is medicore at best.

It is a bit of a concern in that we could do with a quite a few new players joining us and Kelly certainly isn't ready to take a full time first team slot. If he ever will be.

Any thoughts?

Several of the squad are certainly good enough to be poached by clubs higher up. Several are not good enough for us and need to be got rid of.

Rosenior fits into category b) much better than he does category a).

Wouldn't be a huge loss. I can see Murts getting a one year deal this summer and Kelly stepping up to the plate. Bit harsh to say Kells isn't ready yet. If you're good enough, you're ready, and Coppell put a lot of faith in him against Wolves this season and a few more games since. Other than that, agree with you about his temperaments.

Could see a Premiership club coming in for him.

No way near good enough, but like Hunt his reputation is a lot better than he actually is.

We could steal £1m for him, sign someone with a little composure on the ball and continue to bring Kelly through, who has shown promise but isn't a 1st choice yet. Murty can be the new Andy West (Sorry Andy)....

Wow.

I was expecting the usual dubious "sauce" response and a bit of abuse. It seems Liam isn't especially well liked by the fans in general.

I don't think he's disliked, but he is over rated. Too many stray passes for me. Quick to lay blame elsewhere for his mistakes as well. He isn't irreplaceable.

He winds me up but I still think he is a pretty decent fullback.

He does talk himself and the team up quite a bit but I'm sure he actually believes it all, it seems all too well rehearsed to be natural and from the heart.

Like Bikey, he has all the attributes to be able to survive as a Premiership fullback but he does need a little more composure, but maybe that's something only his team mates can help by actually giving him some options to pass to once in a while.

The ironic thing is that he supposedly fell out with Sanchez at Fulham because he didn't want to play the direct style of football Sanchez was after.

I could quite well believe that he'd get a few offers in the summer if we don't go up.

He'll be one of the first out if Sanchez takes over in the summer.

No doubt he's off to a big club ready for his big break into the England set-up because he's world class and Fulham held him back.

.

I agree. Defensively he's sound. It's just that his passing is dreadful. He just seems to have no understanding with the players in front of him, meaning that he always seems to pass the ball in a such a way that it's either just a "hit & hope" pass, which normally results in us losing possession, or it immediately puts the player receiving it under pressure, and again usually losing it.

no real loss,

great attitude, but never backs up his mouth with performances. Only really has a long punt up the line and crosses like Andy Hughes.

If we got £2m for him i'd bite someone's hand and face off

A good player, good defensively, and get's up and down the line.

Crossing is good, and he is quick, unlike the rest of our team.

We would miss him
