Sun Tzu In case you've been away can I point out that we HAVE reduced the wage bill significantly in recent weeks....

Doyle, Duberry, Murty, Hahnemann, Lita - that is a BIG amount of wages no longer being paid out and with Hunt's chunk to go we'll be 100k a week better off all told.

With the exception of Doyle, the club were quoted as saying we still had to reduce the wage bill before we could spend.

You're mental if you think this careful football club will spend £1.5m on one player this summer.

They said sell players - I'm assuming they meant Doyle and Hunt for the funds.

I'm putting you in the mental bracket.

Wont happen. Snap out of it. This way you can only be pleasantly surprised and not let down when our star signing is a £600k unknown

Have we been linked to any rumoured bids for this guy yet?

Not really. Just the usual paper talk. Ex BR player, player would apparently like to play for BR again... No bids as yet.

He kind of linked himself to us - must be a popular chap among the Watford fans .....

Suitable replacement for Doyle.
If Priskin only played well in the second half of the season and banged in 13 goals, imagine how many he'd bang in throughout the whole season!
Double?

If he only played well for the half of last season what makes you think he might do better next? Yes, our new boss was his new boss but he might not be able to attain that level again - maybe his bad form was his usual form?

I wouldn't put him down as a replacement for Doyle either. More of a replacement, albeit 12 months too late, for Kitson.

Obviously we don't necessarily need to replace the players that have left with like for like, especially if, as I think it's fair to expect, we'll be playing a different type of football this season.

It still makes no difference who we have up front if the midfield is not creating anything. Get the supply sorted first.

Jay. Shut up. You know virtually nothing about our finances and intentions. None of us can say how much we will or won't spend on a player.

We may not spend £1.5m or £3m on a single player. But there is absolutely no way you can say we definitely won't.

I'm not going to stick my neck out (because the manager might feel we don't NEED to spend that much to mount a challenge, and I hope he's right) but I'll love it, just love it, if we go out and spend a few million on a new player, just to prove you wrong!! :D

I think that would be the best possible thing to happen. Feck it! I'd accept relegation as a consequence just to prove Jay is a total Arsewit! It would also help illustrate that spending millions isn't a guarantee of success. Plus the added bonus of making Royalee eat his words about Rodgers being so brilliant.

I would like to think that in a few years time, Royalee will be able to look back on what SSC did for the club in a positive way.

I'm in for the long haul. I can accept a relegation to prove Jay is twat, see Royalee suffer from a massive bout of Hubris and laugh at all the spend millions brigade. I'll still be around for the next time we're successful.

It's a close run thing. 3 for the price of 1 with some pain, or listen to idiots mouth the same old shit year after year, possibly with some extasy mixed in.
