SPECULATION - KYLE NAUGHTON & WALKER

by loyalroyal4life » 22 Jul 2009 16:26

I know they only just signed for spurs but cant see them playing regular first team football this season so maybe a loan move to us for the season could benefit all parties?

Now that would be funny and wind up Sheff Utd.

I have heard that Walker is being loaned straight back to the Blades for the season.

Ditto. I need money for a holiday, I reckon I'd pay for almost all of it with the winnings.

I don't think it's that ludicrous a shout. Lot of competition at Spurs, Glen Johnson's had to move around to get regular football and back in the England team, but England aren't blessed with lots of decent right backs. if Naughton can get regular football or as close to at Spurs then you never know i suppose.

I'll put a couple of quid to a worthy cause if he doesn't get go.

Easily our best player last year, and the best young player i've seen at the come through at the lane (and that includes the likes of jagielka and cahill who have both been in the england squad)

At times the rest of the team were looking to him to win games from right back. He has all the attributes to make it in the prem, that it if spurs don't screw him over like they do with every other young player.

I wonder if players actually think about their futures. Some clubs are far better than others when it comes to bringing on youngsters - be they home grown or otherwise. Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool leave a lot to be desired. Whereas, Man Utd, Arsenal and West Ham show what can be done.

I hope your two former kids go on and do well. Just dont expect it to be with the yids.

I was thinking the same when we sold both of the Kyles.

Walker wanted to stay, and Naughton knew we were basically forced to sell him wanted top go to everton but they offered us less and we basically pushed him to go to spurs. when they offered us another 3 million which we presumably could have done without to keep one right back. Very poor on united's part and alot of fans are not happy about it.

It got me thinking that hardly any young player has moved to a large club (like spurs) and gone on to really make a name for themselves without having had substantial first team experience prior to this, compared to lads that [played regular first team football from a young age.

Jagielka was ever present for us for about 5 seasons and has established himself for everton and england, Ashley young must have played nearly 2/3 full seasons for watford, Baines must be nearly 100 games for wigan, Milner played alot of games for leeds Lescott similarly for wolves and all are in or around the england first team.

Its ruining our international chances and players careers teams like spurs/chelsea/man u etc buying player who have played 1/2 first team games if any and then not playing them. So that by the time they are 23/4 they have 6 league cup appearances and no future at the highest level. If the same players had a few seasons experience then they might be able to be in the first team at a top club.

Just goes to show what sort of people agents are. Sidwell made a mistake in leaving us for Chelsea. He is trying to rebuild his career at Villa. Liverpool in the 70s and 80s regularly took youngsters from smaller clubs and stuck them in the reserves to learn the way Liverpool do things.

I would have thought having someone like Jags at Everton would have been enough of an incentive to go there - plus it is not London and all the "attractions" on hand.
