Well that certainly lifts spirits a little, at least its a step up from Rasiak.

I've never rated Marlon King, he may score some goals but he's no top notch forward IMO, not enough to get us out of this league anyway. Should have known it was all down hill the day that Shane Long got the number 9 shirt.

The good thing with King is that he can manufacture a chance or a goal from nothing.

He's big, strong, with a very good touch and pretty quick still I'd imagine. He'd be a better bet for playing upfront on his own than Rasiak. Easily good enough to score plenty of goals in this league.

Not quite the DNA I was expecting Rodgers to be on the look out for, but we've left it a little late after the Smith distraction!

Mick Gooding's line about being glad he hadn't driven his car to the game when he saw King's name on the team sheet will go down in legend.

Would be a great signing on loan. Has a history of falling out everywhere he has been and is big time by all accounts.

But would be a great signing.
