Mad Dog's Ghost This draw is a financial lifeline. Given the fact that we're told RFC is utterly skint, this should provide us with a £1m revenue. Which might, just might, be invested in the team. Or am I totally deluded.

Where did you pluck £1m from?

Wow! Even if we sold all 24,200 seats at £25, that's only £726,000, of which we get only 45% (£326,700). (55% to each team and 10% to the FA Cup "fund").

Yes, add hospitality, programmes and catering to that, but then take off policing, stewarding and other staffing etc.

Even if televised, you're still way, way short of a million!

What's the prize money if you win in the 3rd round?

£1M in revenue, possibly, yes

What are our costs? Standrad match day costs, additional policing costs, additional catering costs.....

So while we might make £1M in revenue this will be nowhere near £1M in prfit, perhaps £250K profit.

As we cannot reinvest revenue, we can only reinvest profit, what type of reinvestment could we expect to for £250K?

A £20K a week player would cost us £1M a season in wages, let alone signing on fees, transfer fees, agents fees,

For this sort of money we could afford a £5K a week player for a season.

Silly me.

Oh well, it should cover Sean Cummings wages for the next 12 months then. Or, God forbid, the wages of a loan striker.

Check this out this FA Cup statement of intent from the RFC news centre. Not even two years ago. Seems like two decades. Love the 4th paragraph of Point 3.

From that
To put it into context, making good progress in the FA Cup could generate the revenue to make a signing of the calibre of Marek Matejowsky.

Do we even know if it's on telly yet? With just the one (appaling) TV company covering the competition this year there shouldn't be a delay should there? Unless ITV are waiting for a replay result, though I'd say that is unlikely as they've already shown some of the little clubs, so it's time for Man U, Chelsea, arsenal and Liverpool to get their moment in the sun

My guess is they are waiting for the replay between Leeds and Kettering to be played....

What are the chances of non-season ticket holders having to buy a league game as well?

Who are the star players?
