I've heard a rumour that he will be installed today. Friend of a colleague (yeah, I know ), is a sports photographer who has been despatched from West London to Reading to cover the conference.

I don't particularly trust this colleague, but you never know.

Hoddle was sniffing around back in the summer. I heard that from a reliable source, so there is some truth but I think we'll stick with McDermott until the end of the season.

There are certainly worse options but I cant see Hod giving up his lucrative Spanish soccer school and not sure how he could do both.

For me Hoddle falls in the 'could do worse' category. Yes, he's a bit of an arse (and slightly mental) but his managerial record is ok. I'd sooner Hoddle than Sanchez or Darren Ferguson, but would still prefer Curbishley (or even McDermott if he does ok as caretaker).

To be honest I'm a bit annoyed that this debate is happening at all because I think Rodger's, for all his faults (particularly with our defence), should have had longer to turn it round. 'Sacking clubs' rarely get anywhere.

just heard this from a guy at our Head office. Not especially happy about it, so hopefully not true.

He is pretty well connected at Brum, but I don't think that means much.

A definite thumbs up from me. Has a similar sort of managerial record (in terms of win percentages) to Steve Coppell. He is experienced, has good connections & well respected.

I don't give a stuff about the bad press he received as England manager as most of that was blown out of proportion by the media in this country (as they always do with England managers).

I would rather have him in charge than Southgate, Curbishley, Ferguson, etc.

But my first choice would still be McDermott although there don't appear to be many who would agree with me.

I wanted Glenn Hoddle when Pardew left originally.

I'd be surprised if he wanted it though tbh, he has his Spanish academy, as already said, and he's on Sky commentating on games which is probably pretty lucrative for him and no pressure.

Having said that, the fact that he's working for Sky and they're reporting on it, could mean something, plus he's local. I'd rather have Hoddle than some of the names previously bandied about on here tbh.

Have heard a rumour that the idea is for him to join as a mentor for Mcdermott, so not full time, leaving him with chances to do other things a swell. Initially until the end of this season.
