Not too sure about this guy. He was tipped for big things and then played shite for 2 seasons because he got cocky. Could be another Lita in the making..

He's got more to his game than Lita and actually has a first touch to be fair to the guy. It'd be interesting to see if he could cut it at this level but I think he's got the talent.

Harpers So Solid Crew Sounds to me like football is not learning the financial lessons. 800k for a player of 21 is daft, we paid that for N Hunt, who had a good few goals at a higher level. Hunt was not a gamble, this lad is, sell on clauses maybe, but this is too much.

Clubs should look at their staff to see why they failed to get this lad on their scouting radar.

On the point of scouting-I don't know how good the lad is but young Austin can't stop scoring for Swindon at the moment.
He was playing for Poole Town last season, that's about 3 levels below The Conference, and IIRC before that at Hungerford Town which isn't so many miles from Reading is it?
Not saying if he is any good but goalscorers are normally a rare and expensive breed however as Ian Wright and Les Ferdinand showed there is talent amongst the non-leaguers (Paul Canoville,DJ Campbell,Paul Mariner are a few more to come to mind).

Austin scored again yesterday at Charlton.

The reason why we aren't playing so well, is because we can't put the ball into the back of the net.

Maybe a bit more to it than that. By the way we've now scored in ten successive games at an above-average-for-the-league 1.5 per game.

I'd have to agree we're short of a decent striker up front, but I think what we're really short of is spine all over the pitch.

Confidence, belief, another striker capable of scoring and a defence with some pace in the middle IMO.

Peterborough have been asked to double their £400k offer if they want to land the striker.

We can forget any notion of going after this guy....

He's no better than Long to be honest, no point forking out any more money.

We'd do better signing Dagnall from Rochdale. Small, zippy striker who can find the net, he'll be much cheaper too!
