readingbedding Yes.

With Rodgers I didn't know if the players were good enough.
With McDermott I now know that they are.

LOL, you're a clown.

F*ck off Ian, we were 3 points clear from relegation when Rodgers was sacked, we'll finish tonight potentially 7 points adrift of safety - that's 10 points worse off...with 2 points from a possible 15. Still, we won 2 games narrowly against teams in complete disarray with no pressure on us in the cup so McDermott must be better.

I'm afraid I voted early on in the poll and it was a big, fat, NO from me.

We're really not good enough to stay up - and we don't deserve to either.

I did a thread days before Rodgers was sacked pointing out that we had a horrible run of six games coming up culminating with tonight's game. We would have picked up sod all under Rodgers and would have been in this mess if he was still in charge.

How do you explain Plymouth then? We drew with Forest and Swansea the last times we played them, we got hammered at Plymouth, Bristol City are so shit that they're currently getting spanked 3-0 at home at half time to Cardiff with whom we drew under Rodgers and yet people still say we'd have lost every game under Rodgers and McDermott is doing as well as he can. You lot are so blinkered it amazes.

McDermott's had 5 league games, and 4 have been away - two of which have been against promotion-chasing sides.

Saying that, tonight's the first time I've felt we are more likely to go down than stay up.

Voting should be closed after Sheff Utd, you asked us before the game took place and results will be skewed now. I'm still sticking with yes, but anything less than a win against Barnsley and the penny may start to drop.

Silver Fox I think we've got enough to stay up

If we don't manage it, it's not the end of the world

Maybe not but it's an incredible achievement by Madejski and his sidekicks to be able to turn things back to rat shyte in such a short space of time. Back to where we started from albeit with a new, massive but largely empty stadium branded with Madejski's name.

Dinosaur maybe, but if we are going to be consigned to tier three football, I preferred the old style - plenty of free parking nearby, few corporate hangers on, ability to stand and move around thanks to reasonable stewards who possessed and were allowed to exercise common sense, no rumble sticks, music after goals etc.

The way I see it is that we have 20 games left and realistically to be guranteed safety we need to win 10 of those, but as a minimum it needs to be 8 and even then it will be very close as to whether or not we go down. We need to look at winning the next three games which are against teams we should be able to beat even with this squad and then go from there. It's going to be very tight this season but I can't give up hope yet.

Out of that:

Yes we drew with Forest under Rodgers, it was the first game of the season though and I don't recall us creating much (some people I regularly go with called us getting relegated that day) and a great save from Fedirici from Earnshaw got us that point - we then narrowly lost to the form team in the division this time round.

Swansea, we drew under Rodgers away but were battered and Swansea started just as badly as we did - we drew with them under McDermott when they were in the play-off spots so arguably a better result.

We didn't draw with Cardiff under Rodgers, we lost 1-0. We drew against Bristol City under McDermott.

Yes.

It’ll be fcuking tight though. The table never lies, we’re second bottom because our forwards aren’t capable of scoring more goals than our defence continually concedes. Gross simplification of team football, of course. That said, there’s been enough glimpses throughout the season, to give me some hope. Brendan did well in developing a squad capable of mid-table stability out of the decimation of the 106/PL team. Too much tinkering, un-Reading spiel, not enough points and no-more money saw Brian come in. Not going to judge him on 8 games, with five tricky aways in there. Home form is where it’s got to start counting and I think the recovery will start with a win over Barnsley.
