.... not sure about the in and outs; ups 'n downs of Stockport - looking back on the FC History Database site, I can't imagine which season could possibly have included such a run of consecutive defeats - unless it was start/end of 01/02 when they finished bottom of Division One with 32 defeats from 46 games.
Looking on Wiki the prime candidate actually seems to be Sunderland - who've managed 20 straight losses (twice

) 02/03 & 05/06. But of course this could have been written/compiled by someone who has no interest outside of the top tier of English Football.
However I can't believe there isn't someone, somewhere lower down the FL who can claim better (or worse?)
I was also at AFC Aldermaston last night and they were actually quite close to getting a 0-0 - deadlock broken agonizingly late on (86') after they'd fought a really courageous rearguard action. Downton did look a bit off-colour - they'd walloped 2nd place Hamble 4-1 earlier this week.
The BBC article has a fair number of 'questionable' points - not least that they can't actually be relegated from the Wessex One unless they choose to be.
After a season like the one they've suffered you could excuse them taking a year or two out to regroup.
They've had seasons similar to this in the past - they even got 'promoted' following an ill-thought re-org in the Wessex and spent the entire season rock-bottom and got thrashed nearly every week - so its not as if they're in uncharted waters.Anyhow here's the Preview for tomorrow's local NL teams - there's quite a few 1st v 2nd match ups in here too....

(2nd v 1st) - also got down to Cherrywood Road this week for the visit of Truro City - very good quality match - 'boro looked very good on the break but were pinned back for much of the game by a very adventurous side. Eventually ended 3-1 but 'boro lost two men to red cards and had to thank their keeper for an excellent penalty save late on. Truro also had ex-Royal Lee Hodges playing for them..Rugby Town v Didcot Town
