What he said

Agreed. We've already got Bry, Tabb, Karacan & Sigurdsson who are better than Harper.

Add to that we've got Marek, Cisse & Howard who are all on a par with Harper (in terms of being largely ineffectual) then we really do not need him back ...

Cisse is nowhere near Harper's league. As demonstrated by him being unable to establish himself as a Championship player, let alone a Premier League one.

From what is being said up here in Sheffield Harper was released purely on grounds of poor/unconvincing performances.

By all accounts he did not 'live up to his Reading reputation' and was seen as a lightweight in midfield. The Blades are desperate to secure Montgomery on a new contract and the limited cash available is heading in his direction.

He wasn't bad.

Just not consistently good. Lee Williamson and monty were a better pairing. No surprise he's gone, given his wages

He is training at Hogwood now and has been for the past two weeks - but that's only because he never moved away from Reading.

Personally I can't see him signing.

Messiah League 1

Im not a great fan of Harper - was good once upon a time (Sidwell days...although I think Sidders made him look better than he actually was!)....think League 1 is probably his level now..

If he was any better, surely a Championship/Premiership team would have considered him..

It wasn't done by him - it was from a Blades forum.

Surprised he couldn't find a club at this level. He was a good player, and very under appreciated. Sheffield Wednesday have got themselves a very good signing there!

Maybe i'm setting myself up for a whoosh, but Harper hasn't signed for Sheff Weds. He'll easily find a club at this level.

Ideal
DOYLERSAROYALER always passing square or backwards

Harper retaining the ball for the team >>>>>>> Matejovsky passing to the opponent
That said, his best days as a player are probably behind him. And we should get rid of Matejovsky as well.

Any fan supporting their own team >>>>>>>>>> Ideal slagging off his own team.

Let's get some new fans.

Rather amusing that fans at another club seem to have worked him out, rather like Norwich did with Andy Hughes.
