The Laws state that any part of his head, feet or body (except the arms) are taken into consideration. I didn't expect the commentators to know that, but surely normal folk should be aware..? Anyway, glad he wasn't flagged, a tidy finish and an amusing result.

Mexico won't want to play out a draw as that will mean facing Argentina instead of S.Korea/Greece...

I can see Mexico winning but France would prob still need a 4-0 win over SA to qualify.

RoyalChicagoFC And to think that except in the filthy air at a mile and a half above sea level at Azteca (or when resting our first-teamers as they play their own best eleven and then celebr7 like they've beaten the world champs when they win), we absolutely PWN those pokey green-shirted pudwhacks

Nothing less than the most disgraceful French stand since the spring of 1940, and that's saying something

I did note its pretty much exactly 70 years since de Gaulle said

But has the last word been said? Must hope disappear? Is defeat final? No!

I've got bored of Hannan (and that other eye-opener from a few months ago, Glenn Beck).

vaguely linked, plus CoB ftw, what a great edition of the Economist last week. Big article on what's wrong with the American right (Beck/Fox etc), plus Bagehot on English society and the World Cup.

Korea Republic (north or south?!?), ..... 1954

Wiki The Korean War (1950–53) was a military conflict between the Republic of Korea, supported by the United Nations, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and People's Republic of China (PRC), with air support from the Soviet Union. The war began on 25 June 1950 and an armistice was signed on 27 July 1953.

That'd make it South Korea.
