World Cup Bid

by PlasticRoyale » 30 Jun 2010 14:49

Should the winners of this world cup be allowed host the next one - like the eurovision.

Would this focus the FA into actually implementing things that would improve the english game

In the same way that at least a few countries from each continent are guaranteed a place at the world cup, I think the rotation system of world cups (in place briefly but then scrapped if I remember rightly??) would be best.

It's a world cup, not a European + a handful of South American nations cup, and that needs to be reflected in the hosts as much as the entrants.

4 out of the last 7 World Cups have been outside outside Europe / S America, and the last S American WC was Argentina in 1978.

So what was the problem again ?

Sorry is that directed at me?

I'm saying I'm happy with the status quo.

Come 2018 that will be 4 out of 9, and that even allows for the real global growth in football that saw the tournament go to the Far East and to Africa.

Not sure who is making what point, but any sort of 'rotation' around the continents works for me.

Random world cup note - I think this may be the chilliest on record. Anyone got the real factsss?
