Brendan Rodgers is the leading contender to take over at Leicester.

Chairman Milan Mandaric has shortlisted the former Reading and Watford boss to succeed Nigel Pearson.

Rodgers, 37, was axed by Reading in December after just six months.

Steve Clarke, sacked by West Ham after Gianfranco Zola left, is on the list along with Swansea’s Paulo Sousa.

Sort of feel sorry for them. Will make the TV game against them interesting! I still do not know why Pearson left to go to Hull, or am I missing something?

Steve Clarke has to be a top candidate for a league manager's job soon, he's built up a good rep as a coach at Chelsea especially, under Mourinho, and at West Ham.

But the difference at Leicester for him would be he'd get money to spend......

Interesting, yesterday it was reported that Phil Parkinson was Mandaric's favourite.

Yep, and the pressure of knowing there's been 6 managers in 4 years under Mandaric's ownership.

Rodgers got down to the last two, before Mandaric plumped for Megson.

Oh no he wouldn't! Why do you think Pearson was tempted away?

Mandaric's money is drying up, like it did at Portsmouth - plus there's always the HMRC tax avoidance chareg hanging over him, which would mean instant disqualification from ownership, even if he did escape prison.

Expect bad things for Leicester next year.

And of course Rodgers record with signings isn't great. He can pick some good players, but he ain't so great at integrating them into a team and getting them to play well.

As we saw when he spent three or four million with us.

It's more about him dropping and transfer-listing record signings when they speak up against him forcing the team to play a system they don't like and don't understand .....

he is saying, that even though he did rather well in the transfer market, he did not play mills, instead opting for Pearce.

Mills was a good signing, but I reckon he was happier than most when Brendan left.

Spot on. Mills was frozen out because he questioned BR's tactics.

Fair enough to drop him though I reckon.

All the noises coming from Leicester today suggest that it's a done deal for Sousa.
