Reading to sue Hull for Hunt payment.

by Ups and Downs » 30 Jul 2010 23:30

I've heard that Reading have still not received full payment for Hull and are about to or are in teh process of suing Hull to collect what they are owed.

Hull have not got the money, despite selling Hunt on, and are likely to go into administration in the first few months of the season.

If true, it sounds like a move to get us to the top of the creditors pile.

The problem is we have budgeted for having this money. Increasing £4m deficit even greater, would seem that pushing them into admin is our only option.

If we did push them into admin then under the rules of the football league we would still get paid in full as all footballing debts have to be meet in full, so it would not effect us to where we are on the list of creditors

Only if they have enough to pay all those football creditors in full, which it must be unlikely.

If you look at who's left in their squad you wouldn't really fancy any of them would you?

Valid tactic against a team in the same division. That's one fewer to worry about finishing above us if we do sue and push them into admin.

Hull will not be the last club to have difficulty in making payments. Perhaps that old rogue Ken Bates should inveigle a relative into buying the club for £1 and paying creditors 1p in the £1 or less...

Would Hull be forced to provide reading with some of the proceeds from the Boaz Myhill sale to WBA? Or doesn't it work like that?

We would have or will get the money. The money from the Hunt sale to wolves would have given Hull more than enough to pay us off, if they have not and the money is in installments from Wolves, the football league will divert the payments to Reading untill its paid off i believe.

They probably haven't received the full payment for his sale to Wolves, so we might be able to get Wolves to pay us directly? Seem to think something like that happened with Tommy Smith last season and Pompey ...

Not if they used the Hunt money to pay off other existing debts ala pompey, who recieved a tidy profit on players like Muntari but still owed Udinese money for him.

You don't start at Manure then play for 3 Premier League teams if you're gash.
