Maguire
paultheroyal Not that it means much after the Gylfi saga but lets kill this rumour here and now....

Only last week on BBC site...

Carlisle United defender Ian Harte and striker Gary Madine have signed extended deals with the club.

Harte, 33, was last season's top scorer with 21 goals and has signed until the summer of 2012.

That doesn't kill the rumour in any way, shape, or form.

Particularly if contract not signed.

I actually think this would be a pretty good signing. Very good defender still, likes to get forward, is a leader and takes a mean set piece. Good be an asset and help give McAnuff the space he thrives on.

I know Ipswich tried to get him on loan earlier in the summer but Carlisle weren't interested.

The club's immediate ambition is to replace Marcus Williams...

Because what we really need is a bit more youth in the team.

It's not 2001 anymore, Big Foot. Should we sign Mark Viduka as well?

Well he is doing well in League 1 and as we are likely to be there next season he should fit in just fine - definitely one for the future.

But seriously as a squad player in an injury hit squad he could be a good buy if we are only paying £50K.

I'm torn between "Well, he can't be that bad as some sort of utility defender" and "LOL".

Local press in Carlisle reporting that Harte is in talks with us.

We don't even need a left back.

Does he still play left back for them? Never had any pace 10 years ago, great set pieces and that was about it.
