From where i was sitting, long's performance was applauded? But howards substitution was appluaded due to him putting in a dire shift, never seen him play so bad before, every other ball he gave away and Jem made him look league 2 quality the way he ran circles around him covering for him!

jeering and booing a player is for when they are repeatedly shit. Long isn't good enough, but he's hardly worthy of getting a booing unless he has a spectacularly bad game.

Booing Howard after one poor game is spectacularly stupid though. The guy has been involved in the creation of half a dozen of our goals at least!

I have said this before both on here and to anyone who is prepared to listen:

Booing and jeering is totally negative. It solves nothing and can have a detrimental effect on a player's confidence.

Even when they have played really badly, it is rare for supporters to boo and jeer their players at Liverpool.
