Wycombe Royal Yet again someone provides the evidence that was asked for and again it is devalued because it doesn't match his argument. This time it is devalued because it was made "by the biggest whinger on the planet".

Ian Royal
He's got form in trying to get players sent off I've discovered. Waved an imaginary card at the ref when that young defender was sent off for a second yellow a while ago. ... was it Ipswich?

are you sure he PLAYED, only you apparently saw Long "clean through" versus Portsmouth you clown.

So, let's read that again. You say, "He's got form in trying to get players sent off I've discovered." EVIDENCE?

"Waved an imaginary card at the ref when that young defender was sent off for a second yellow a while ago. ... was it Ipswich?"

SO nobody else mentioned this? You're not even sure of the oxf*rd GAME? Wow, you should be a judge.

There are certainly a lot of well educated and or intelligent people posting on HNA.

Including you? Shame about your eyesight and/or veracity

Harte hits back at Ferguson - March 9, 2001

Republic of Ireland international Ian Harte arrived back from Madrid to read Alex Ferguson 'diver' accusations yesterday - and quickly hit back at the United boss, describing him as "confused".

The Drogheda-born Leeds United full back told his own web-site: "After the match Ferguson admitted he thought Barthez was going to be sent off after kicking out at me. The man never makes mistakes you know, yet he's obviously changed his mind. I think he's confused himself.

"It seems obvious to me he's just looking after his players. Anyone looking on the TV will see he kicked out at me. Last year I kicked out at Dennis Bergkamp when we were playing Arsenal at home and I was sent off. It does seem as though there is one rule for one team and another for the rest of us."

But Marcus Stewart - the Ipswich Town striker sent off for a two-footed tackle on Harte - has backed Ferguson.

He said: "I saw Saturday's incident and there's no doubt that Barthez caught Harte but he jumped in the air like he was on a trampoline. It was definitely a foul, as it was with me, but Harte made a meal of it. I could understand Harte going down if he was hurt but the way he jumped up in the air and his facial expressions were so over-the-top.

"I don't think he was badly hurt at all. It seems to just be something that Ian Harte does."

Stewart was the first to accuse Harte of diving, claiming the Irishman had wrecked the Ipswich striker's chances of playing for England by getting him sent off.

But the FA later vindicated Harte by upholding Stewart's red card and imposing a suspension.

Snowball, you are an enormous hypocrite. If that applies to me for writing the wrong team name once, then you might want to consider what it makes you for all the stupid little errors you make.

MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper Fabien Barthez Fabien Alain Barthez will not face any disciplinary action from the Football Association for his weekend clash with Leeds defender Ian Harte

The incident led to an angry exchange of views between rival managers Sir Alex Ferguson and David O'Leary

However, referee Graham Barber has made it clear to the FA that he saw the incident in awarding a penalty and booking the Frenchman for felling Harte.

That means the matter is now closed and, even if some observers believe Barthez should have been sent off for kicking out at Harte,

the FA's video advisory panel do not become involved if a referee has witnessed an incident.

FA spokesman Adrian Bevington said: "The referee dealt with the incident in terms of the penalty decision and in issuing a caution to Fabien Barthez for foul play."

I feel really sorry for Holt.

He's such a mild-mannered guy would never hurt a fly

The fact that he tops his club's bad-discipline record this season
The fact that he tops his club's bad-discipline record last season
The fact that he tops his club's bad-discipline record the season before that

046 Fouls 03 Yellows 1 Red 2010-11
094 Fouls 10 Yellows 1 Red 2009-10
136 Fouls 13 Yellows 0 Red 2008-09
051 Fouls 06 Yellows 1 Red 2007-08 24 (11)
083 Fouls 07 Yellows 0 Red 2006-07 41 (13)
036 Fouls 05 Yellows 1 Red 2005-06 28 (03)

and in the other seasons he failed to become the biggest thug because he didn't play a full season

So he's a notorious "bad boy" for three different clubs.

I would have thought Holt's disciplinary record is no worse than your favourite other Irishman and that is probably over more games.
BTW I have noticed that Harte is quite a moaner at referees as is Long and Hunt-is it because they are Irish?

Stand up Ian Harte Ian Patrick Harte (born August 31, 1977 in Drogheda) is an international footballer for the Republic of Ireland national football team who currently plays for Sunderland. Club career
Harte joined Leeds United from Irish club Home Farm in 1995. , the Drogheda lad who, this season, has emerged as a clinical weapon for both Leeds United and Ireland.

And the new rival to David Beckham Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism. in one of the glamour departments of English football: Scoring spectacular goals. For much of his career, Harte has been overshadowed by his team-mate and uncle, Gary Kelly. Now, all of a sudden, he is being hailed as one of the Premiership's marquee names.

A stunning 90 minutes against Deportivo La Coruna La Co·ru·ña - the team who beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to the Spanish title - did as much for Harte's profile as Hull Crown Court has for three team-mates.

A quite sensational free-kick and two silver-salver assists were beamed to tens of millions of homes around Europe. The next morning his manic celebrations decorated half the continent's back pages.

Harte's profile could hardly have shot up any quicker if he had gone from fast-food waiter to Big Brother contestant.

When an opponents gets to Fergie - a scarlet-faced Red Devils supremo accused Harte of being a "diver" after he won Leeds a penalty at Old Trafford - he must be doing something right.

Blinded by celebrity, some English commentators have ridiculously elevated Beckham to God-like status. The nuttier camp have made a case for him being the best player in the world (that guy Rivaldo is hardly in the same league is he?!!) when the truth is he is not even among the best three at United. Beckham can't tackle, is only slightly faster than rush hour traffic, doesn't go by players and heads a ball like somebody who is determined not to mess up his million pound deal with Brylcream.

Comparing him to Roy Keane is like making a parallel between a glass of home-brew and a pint of Arthur's finest. One is occasionaly tasty, but not to be trusted. The other is undeviating in its excellence.

However, what Beckham can do - and very often does - is hit a free-kick as powerfully and accurately as a laser-guided missile. Adidas have built an entire advertising campaign around the apparent ease with which the Londoner defies gravity and geometry. Goal of the Month competitions are illuminated by those swerving specials that leave 'keepers diving, like demented bungee-jumpers, into thin air.

Up until last month, just about any educated football follower - Manchester United fan or not - asked to nominate one player to take a free-kick to save his life, would opt for Mister Posh.

Beckham and Harte were in Champions League action.

And while the Manchester man had a zero for three return from free-kicks against Bayern Munich, Harte almost ripped the net of the Elland Road stanchion housing with a thunderbolt Timed at almost 70 miles per hour, the Irishman's effort exploded from his left-foot with a thrilling burst of acceleration that was worthy of a jet hitting the after-burners. Half the population of Coruna could have been guarding the net and the ball would have still whizzed past them.

Harte has fired Leeds towards a Champions League semi-final and bundles of bonus loot. United and Beckham face the exit door and a stock market crash. It was the latest proof, that, four months shy of his 24th birthday, Harte's skills have been refined to a level where he is dangerous from 25 yards as Tiger Woods is from ten feet. For further proof, examine the strike-rates of the 74 Irish players on the first team books in England's two top divisions. You would probably hazard a fairly confident guess and nominate Robbie Keane or Niall Quinn as the leading scorer among that bunch. Or maybe as an outside bet, an attack-minded winger such as Damien Duff, or a box-to-box midfield player in the Matt Holland mode. In all four cases, you'd be wrong. Because it is Harte - and not his 12M Elland Road team-mate - who leads all Irish scorers. With eight goals for his club and two for his country, he is the only Irishman in England's top two divisions to have reached double figures this season.

It is also true that, in his primary defensive duties, he is less compelling. Though strong in the air and an excellent long range passer, he remains vulnerable to pace and lapses of concentration.

But while Beckham's form slumps towards recession - anonymous against Munich, his only contribution was to pick up a yellow card that rules him out of the return - Harte enjoys a boom period.

Famed for his whipped-in crosses and ability to strike a dead ball with unerring accuracy. Unfortunately his wide role sometimes limits his contribution to open play, but his peerless capacity to produce chances from the flanks justifies Ferguson's selection policy. Whether deployment in a more central berth would be worth the risk given Beckham's tendency to lash out to strike out wildly or furiously; also used figuratively.

This versatile defender is the nephew of Leeds right-back Gary Kelly. Despite his tender age, he is almost a veteran in O'Leary's young side having already become a regular fixture in the Republic of Ireland national side. A powerful left boot makes him extremely dangerous in dead ball situations. He is also potent in the air in the opposition's penalty box and regularly gets on the score sheet. Was outstanding as Leeds beat Deportivo 3-0 at Elland Road in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals last Wednesday.

Who said he was a bad boy in terms of getting yellow or red cards? It has merely been pointed out that that Harte made his injury appear worse than it was. You don't have stats for that so you can't argue it. I don't see many agreeing with you that he didn't play act.......

Just so's you know Hoop. I Googled Harte and Dive and I found the bleating Man U manager, and one hanger-on (who admitted to a two-footed challenge on Harte)

I have found absolutely NO OTHER REFERENCE to Harte diving, anywhere in the last 15 years

Except there was some psycho on HNA who sees Irish players failing when they aren't even on the pitch.

He (apparently) alleges some kind of hand-waving gesture, on radio.

Did you find any other evidence, anything in 15 years of playing career, some other little hint of poor sportsmanship, Hoop?

I could really do with some help here, otherwise I will be forced to say Harte is NOT a cheat, and that would be AWFUL.

I do not give a flying monkey's oxf*rd whether anyone "agrees"
or not. You DO NOT KNOW what the facts are. You were not
on the pitch, you were not kicked, you are neither Harte nor
Holt. But, as usual, you pontificate as if you felt those studs
hit your leg.

Harte MIGHT have laid it on.
Harte MIGHT have cheated.
But you KNOW nothing.

He might also have been genuinely hurt by the challenge, and that is my belief, as I watched.

Not ONE person near me, at the time, thought it wasn't a bad challenge.

Whether it's a yellow or a red is down to the ref, not Harte, but I resent the fatuous, casual way idiots
just disparage a player from the safety of their computers, when in truth, they are blind amateurs
(the vast majority) many of whom have never even played the game.

The interesting part of that lengthy stuff written by a Leeds fans is that even at 23,10 years ago he couldn't defend.
Now,older and slower still,he can't defend.
That is what I said when we signed him and I have seen nothing to change my mind.
Left-back is a defensive position and the sooner we see a decent left-back in our side, who can defend, the better.

Snowball But you KNOW nothing.

Neither do you but that doesn't stop you spouting your crap all day everyday claiming it all to be facts and statistically proven.

I don't understand why you believe yourself to be superior to everyone else when you have been shown up, had stats torn apart and challenges met time and time again.......

I admire your willingness to never accept defeat and it is a good characteristic to have if you are a professional sportsperson but on a forum it make you look very stupid.
