My recollection is that he said that he would like to sign Khiz but could not as there was no money. This changed when we sold Sig. There was no outright denial of interest that I recall with either.

Fair point about Stokie but I would be surprised if this goes ahead. Personally I would much prefer Bednar.

Brian McDermott has hinted there is a chance he will add to Reading’s squad ahead of the loan transfer deadline a week tomorrow.

Clubs are allowed to draft in players on a short-term basis until midnight next Thursday and Royals’ boss is keen to complement his current crop of players.

The Post can reveal that rumours circulating in Iceland that McDermott is set to land Stoke City forward Eidur Gudjohnsen are wide of the mark.Jonny Fordham's Reading FC webchat

He did express an interest at some point you're right, but I thought there were other times he said no. I may be getting mixed up with other speculation of the time though.

I certainly wouldn't rule out a move just because of a few quotes given to the Post reporters though.
