PEARCEYTony Le Mesmer How long before attendances at Stamford Bridge return to normal?
Chelsea v Southampton
Date: 12th February 1992
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Result: 1-1
Scorers: Cascarino; Horne
Chelsea: Kevin Hitchcock, Craig Burley, Andy Myers, Alan Dickens, Erland Johnsen, Ken Monkou, Graeme Le Saux (Michael Gilkes), Andy Townsend, Tony Cascarino, Clive Allen, Graham Stuart (Kevin Wilson)
Southampton: Tim Flowers, Jeff Kenna, Michael Adams, Barry Horne, Richard A Hall, Neil Ruddock, Matthew Le Tissier, Glen Cockerill, Alan Shearer, Iain Dowie (David Lee), Francis Benali
Referee: Paul Danson (Leicester)
Attendance: 7148
Two things. I had no idea that any top-flight game let alone Chelsea had attracted such a dismal attendance. Its incredibly low.
Second. I didn't realise Gilkey went on loan to Chelsea. Can't remember it at all.
