Why would we? Turning the click back never works.

I'd prefer Sig too, and Doyle if Wolves go down.

McDermot said, at one of the fans' forums, that the only one from the Championship winning side of 2005/6 he'd have back was Sidwell.

Probably due to his playing a superb season before going out on a free, unlike other prima donnas who did the opposite.

TBH I voted NO. But I remember at a recent Star-forum Brian was asked which of the last promotion squad he'd have in his team if he could choose and he answered without hesitation - Sidwell

EDIT - whoops, just noticed Sarah said what I just said.

Great minds, Cookie...

That was before we lost Siggie and got Leigertwood though.

I just think Sid's become a bit too big / rich / London for us now. He'd expect to be the captain / main man etc. Also he's done it at Reading - up to 8th.

The ones I'd get back are:

Gylfi
Simon Cox
Ryan Bertrand

Young enough and hopefully have some feel for the club and rapport with our younger players.

There's no way I expect we could afford Doyle and he deserves better than another Prem struggle.

Doyle, Shorey, Sidwell and Sigurdsson would guarantee survival

I can't see us spending more than £20k p/w on any player tbh, and I imagine Sidwell is on around £40k p/w. So no.

It's a weird one this...in theory I'd have them all back - but it just so rarely works that I wouldn't have any of them back. The two players I would have most liked to have "come back" the season after we got relegated was Kitson and Little, it happened...be careful what I wish for.

Did he mention any particular reason for this?
Doyle back would be great but better stop dreaming!
