Big Foot Coventry

Agreed with this. Completely nonplussed at our last game there. Half-full featureless flatpack stadium, no atmosphere whatsoever - it made the Madejski seem like a cauldron. Miserable.

Scunthorpe, though, I like. A proper old shithole, great stuff.

does no-one else think Watford is rubbish? maybe its because the last two games have been so poor but the absence of one side of the stadium is not good

I love Scunny, plenty to do in and about the ground.

Bournemouths ground is shite, and nothing around the ground, Wigan is pretty poor as is Aldershot.

The journey into the Hawthorns has to be one of the most demoralising experiences you'll find

Is depressing the right word here? If it was boring, non-descript and characterless, then there would be loads of contenders.

Grounds that I have not enjoyed going to are:

Watford before The Rookery was rebuilt
Walsall - Fellows Park and Bescot
Blackpool - before Oysten splashed the cash
Bolton - Burnden Park after they built that sodding supermarket. Before that it was a brilliant ground.
QPR - Sat on the Ellerslie Rd side and my legs have never been the same
Brighton - The Goldstone was just horribly miserable
Halifax - The Shay before the speedway moved out was so bad that the story goes that a previous manager would sign players at the railway station before they saw the ground
Reading - Elm Park had absolutely nothing aesthetic about it. It was a dump but it was OUR dump!
Wolves - Molyneux in 1986 was probaly the only one that could be described as depressing. A massive ground. Main stand closed for safety, the opposite stand 20 miles from pitchside, the North Stand closed for safety and the once impressive South Bank terrace split in half dor segregation. A crowd of 4,000 could easily have been lost to civilisation for ever.

Leeds was the most disappointing, considering the size and recent-ish history of the club. I'd add Forest for similar reasons.

Don't understand the problem with Elland Road. Good atmosphere when we've been there recently IMO.

Agree with Rob - Elland Road could be better, but it's not as depressing as other shit holes.

Agree with most of that, and a big LOL at anyone who thinks that Stamford Bridge is depressing, you should have gone before it was redeveloped, disabled cars parked between The Shed End and the pitch.

I'll add in Plainmoor - as an earlier poster said, miles from the town centre, no decent pubs nearby, concrete blocks away "end", on the other hand the Cornish pasties were nice.

It should be a million times better than it is. Massive plot of land and all they've done in the last 40 years is build a way too big stand that looks massively out of proportion with the rest of the ground. The land around the ground was perfect for redevelopement if they hadn't been run by idiots and instead looks like a gypo site. It actually looks better when they have the travelling fair there which says it all.

You are bang wrong. There are 4 or 5 proper pubs within 10minute walk of Plainmoor, plus they have one of the best bars at a ground anywhere in the country imo. Terrace with a roof away end what more could you want?

Fair point about the twon centre though, it's a bit of a walk! also loses points because both the train stations are miles away as well.
