yes - what a f*cking dump. although pissing against a wall in the open air is an experience

Agree.

There is nothing quite as depressing as Saltergate, the wind the rain and the loss.

Chesterfield as a town completely lacks any redeeming features.

Saltergate is my favourite :|

Remember a great 2-0 win there when ITV digital had just gone bust. Good times.

Elland Rd - 1 decent stand does not a decent ground make, access is pretty shit especially considering it's 100yds from a motorway and it's the only ground at which I've encountered unwarranted trouble EVERY time I've been.

Loftus Rd - Away end, top tier, where's the goal? Nobody knows.

Kenilworth Lane - The only away end designed specifically with unibuttocked double leg amputees in mind.

Anfield/Old Trafford/St James' Park/Stadium of Light - 4 grounds with the most unjustifiably over hyped atmospeheres in England.

Ark Royal Walsall (Bescot) is a featureless Lego set. Absolutely cracking chicken balti pies though.

Fook off - gr8 little ground. Remember the game when Keith Jones scored a perfectly good goal that was disallowed? No, you wouldn't as it was pre 2005. Pitch invasion by the Reading fans. When was the last time that happened?

Schards#2 Ninian Park used to be a depressing place, as was Springfield Park in Wigan.

I would describe Coventry as depressing as both times I've been there, I've contemplated slitting my wrists at half time as a preferable alternative to watching the second half. Half empty, silent, featureless bowl.

I fear Reading may become similar to this were they to be relegated.

Fook off - Ninian Park was good. Remember being there on Boxing day (when Casper got his leg broken I think) and for an FA Cup cup prior to that . Cardiff fans infiltr8ed the away terrace end and were taken back to the home end. This was pre 2005 though, so you wouldn't have been there.

Stoke might be the loudest ground in the Prem but back in the days when they were crap, I can remember going there with about 8,000 in the place for a mid week game, we won 4-0 and the ground was empty with ten minutes to go, and a freezing wind swept round the stadium. No Delila just the sound of people leaving there seats.

I was there on the Boxing Day, think it was a draw and I remember a Cardiff fan just headbutting the fencing and starring at us all for ages. Gr8 old ground I thought

gazzer, loyal royal Coventry is ok, if you go to the casino under the ground.

For me Palace, shit area, crap seats rubbish view and has a massive Sainsbury's next to it

Disagree. Some good old fashioned London boozers nearby and you always drink somewhere else in London first and then head down. One of the few remaining grounds when following Reading away I always feel confident of making a decent atmosphere under that old roof and being able to stand.

Always seems like more fans are in the away end than is actually the case as well. And to top it all Palace fans are really easy to wind up.

Nope. On a regime until 9th December, only had 1 bottle of Coors and 1 pint of Guinness in a month. (and that wasn't last night)

100% agreed. Normally the best away day in the season.

Stoke and Oldham for being the coldest and windiest grounds.

Goodison Park for having so many restricted views (atmos is good though)

The old Wembley was shocking. I went to an Auto Windscreens final there and was unlucky enough to be sat low down - couldn't see the fricking ball over the back of he advertising hoardings. Anything above knee height was all that I saw. Sh1te.

And Old Trafford. Yes, great ground, but I went a couple of years ago when they played Villa and were 2-1 down with a few minutes to go. They ended up winning (Ronaldo and Macheda I think), but jesus, the moaning because they dared to be losing. Bloated fans expecting their team to just turn up and win. Spoilt tossers.

Saltergate was also one of my favourites. Always seemed to be a laugh going there.

On the flip side Preston is an utter dump, the view from the away end of row after row of terraced housing under a grim grey sky and being escorted back to the station by a policeman through what he described as "Little Bangladesh" being particular low lights. Shit train journey as well.

I am with the shouts for Luton - absolutely depressing area, shite pubs and access to the away end via someones back garden.

Adams Park for me. But I used to live within half a mile of the ground so I probably experienced it more than most on here.

Oh and Ayresome Park and now the Riverside. Middlesbrough, what a dump.

Been to far worse places than Middlesbrough. Not wild about the Riverside, but the Ayresome Park gates and memorial brick area is rather nicely done. And what's not to love about the Transporter Bridge.

WHL best ground in the prem fur't atmopshere.
proper old school. 80% of ground standing at big matches.
intimidating walking down seven sisters strasse too.

was in a pub there few seasons back, t'was like that scene out of ID. everyone was hammered jumping about the gaff.
then some punter gets up on the pool table and asks for a minutes silence for his old man that had passed away that morning  .
it was observed, and ended by everyone chucking their beer in the air. quality.
you dont get that in the millenium hotel.
