Svlad Cjelli Ian Royal "were targetted because of the city's large gay population". No shit, sherlock.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the point you're making here.
Ian Royal Is there really something offensive about "does your boyfriend know you're hear?" Certainly nothing homophobic about anal sex references, given this is certainly not restricted to the gay community.
The spelling is pretty offensive

But I think you'll find that legally this would be deemed "offensive".
Ian Royal I hate the way these things are always reported without what was actually said being quoted. It shouldn't be hidden, it should be in the open what was said and what was unacceptable. It would help define the boundary between acceptable and not acceptable. Simply reprinting when it's central to the whole story isn't offensive or wrong.
I'm sorry, again I don't understand the point you're making. And just how do you define what is and isn't acceptable?
In any case, I'm not trying to make any point here myself - I'm just trying to make supporters understand the current attitude within the game.
Not saying you are trying to make a point Dirk.
First quote - the comment in the article about the reason Brighton gets "homophobic" banter is because it has a large gay community, kinda goes without saying really. That's the point I was making (badly).
Second quote - then I believe the law is an ass, sir. Though I agree my spelling is criminal their (sic).
Third quote - whenever there is racist or homophobic, or sexists comments, what's actually been said is often left out as. As if printing it is somehow offensive. I don't agree with sweeping things under the carpet like that.
Report clearly on what was said that was worthy of punishable. Even if people don't agree with that, it helps clearly establish what you can and can't get away with, for people who might perhaps otherwise not have known different. -> See the Hansen "coloured" thread for example. That's quoted, so people know what was said.
The article about the homophobic convictions has no indication of what was said. So there's no indication of what is acceptable "banter" and what is offensive homophobia.
And apologies for hijacking the thread.
