Archie's penalty You realise how much you are saved by the fact that AE has only six pages of history.

You said something to that effect and it is lost in the sands of AE.

I probably did say something similar, bet is was funnier than that though

Dont wish to be a prude but there's a reason why the "football" side of hobnob can be seen without being a member whilst the "Anything Else" (Anything Goes) section can only be seen by registered members.

I really don't think its appropriate to be quoting more controversial stuff from there onto here.

Not aimed at anyone in particular, just my opinion.

Yeah agreed - can a mod knock out the last couple of pages please?

Or the whole sorry lot if you feel like it.

Snowball
Schards#2 If Snowball thinks he's singled out for long-term systematic extreme, concerted, gang-bang-style criticism and abuse, I can only assume he doesn't read many other threads.

The alternative is some sort of paranoia but far be it from my to question his mental condition.

Here's how the internet works.

Read what I said.

I don't think I'm singled out for criticism

I think I'm a target for long-term systematic extreme, concerted, gang-bang-style criticism
and abuse.

I didn't say I am SINGLED OUT for long-term systematic extreme, concerted, gang-bang-style criticism and abuse.

You just quietly, subtly changed what was actually said and then attack that.

You've spent the best part of several days bemoaning the treatment you get on here, constantly using the words "I", "me", "my".

Seems an odd thing to do if you accept that you aren't being singled out.

Paranoia, when others post to say THEY think the attacks
are excessive and unwarranted?

Maybe it's a sort of group-viral paranoia, my paranoia and somehow I get them to think the same.

Yeah, that'll be it.

The fact that that you consider someone disagreeing with you on a discussion board an "attack" is, kind of, Exhibit A

NEAT. Where, above am I talking about disagreement?

That's YOU again, subtly altering stuff, YOU deciding that mere
criticism (as you allege) is being seen by me as an attack.

I am talking about the CONSTANT ad hominem attacks on my personality or mental state (including yours)

I write on sites where there is "disagreement" all the time, and that is fine.

But personal attacks, anything ad hominem is absolutely banned

I am talking about the stats, nothing else. I don't venture on to AE much as it isn't really what I come on here for.

But it's NOT "just the stats" is it?

It's the whole interaction.

If an individual gets attacked right left and centre, is abused and ridiculed in MOST threads,
then maybe, just maybe that individual would "bristle"

How long would you last if a couple of dozen Hob Nobbers decided to chase you
round HobNob querying every single comma, and each in turn niggling at you?

Firstly I'd wonder why, was I provoking it (in your case the answer is most definitely yes) and then I would more than likely just ignore it. The more you fuel it the more they will do it. Ignore and they will get bored and go away.

There is a reason why people criticise your stats, you have justbeen too blinkered to accept any level of criticism and it has just "snowballed" (pardon the pun) from there.

I don't "accept" or "deny" it's irrelevant

"A car ran ME over."

What difference does it make if other cars ran other people over?

What matters is MY interaction with THE car,

Snowball
Terminal Boardom This is either for Strap or Snowball.

What with 6 wins on the spin, what have been the best winning runs in the second tier and what was the final league position? I think the best we had was 10 in 2005/06 and we all know what happened then.

Strap

But cmonurz says we had 13 not too long ago

Cmonurz is right.

One for strap to confirm as Snowball is a relative newbie to RFC, but Reading’s 13 wins in a row to start the 85/86 (?) season is a football league record. I don’t know if we’ve beaten it with another run mid-season, but I’d doubt it, we’re Reading, not Barca.

Like a woman in a short dress provokes her own rape?

I was shocked absolutely rigid at the vitriol aimed at me almost from Day One when I "dared" to speak out
on behalf of Shane Long. That was January 2009 and the personal stuff directed at me (and my response)
has been "standard fare" ever since.

I have a basic stance. Subjectivity is full of human error, stats go some way to correcting that.

People in general HATE me saying that and regularly attack. And I mean attack, not discuss.

I could reel off hundreds of personal LOL-type dismissals and the same number of posts
mentioning my mental state.

The more you fuel it the more they will do it. Ignore and they will get bored and go away.

Wanna bet?

Again, why bring this up on the Team Board? It's a personal attack.

No. It's a statement of absolute fact.

You see how uncomfortable that feels?

See how it feels like a personal attack?

Welcome to my world.

So days of teary eyed bleating are because you are being treated the same as every one else?

I can think of a fairly simple solution to your distress.

Why bring rape into it? Totally irrelevant and innapropriate.

And yes if you ignore it then it does go away. Been there, done it, long before your time on here. But as we are all aware - you are right, I am wrong.
