Ideal And if Karacan has been seriously injured, our promotion challenge might be as good as over.

 Really?

The whole reason we brought Mullins in was in case anything happened to Karacan or Tabb. Mullins is more than suitable to slot in, and Gunnarsson on the bench will never let us down.

Brown knew exactly what he was doing with that challenge - he did the same to Leigertwood in the first half. He wins the ball with one leg but then traps the players leg with his other and then slams them to the ground

Mullins is a creative midfielder who also plays in defence so knows how to put a boot in.....we'll be fine

Is Mullins good enough to cover both Karacan and Tabb ?

As disappointed I am in Karacan's injury (thanks Leeds) it's nice to have an almost like-for-like replacement for him in that little genius Jay Tabb too.

Doesn't Tabb's broken rib prevent him from playing too.

Damn, I'd forgotten about that. Broken? I didn't know it was that bad... Not to worry, bring on Gunnarsson and Mullins!

Yep. Our entire style of play is based on Karacan and Leigertwood dominating the centre of the pitch and closing down opposition play.
I do not believe Mullins is good enough to replace Karacan in his role.

Well I and many others will disagree with that. Mullins was good enough to play that role for West Ham when they earnt promotion from the Championship, and also good enough for Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth when they won an FA Cup. He is more than suitable to come in for Jem, and there's also Gunnarsson who can step up to the bench as well.

So that's the end of our promotion campaign then? Please, Ideal, have the courage of your apparent convictions and back West Ham. Properly.

You're embarrassing.

Ideal in posting rubbish shock...

Of course Mullins is good enough; is he better than Jem? I'd argue not, but can he do a job? of course, and to suggest otherwise shows zero confidence in Brian's judgement which has been pretty well spot on since he took over as Manager.

Ideal, as usual you don't understand.

No-one denies this injury might weaken us. What you said was that our promotion challenge is over. These two statements are radically different.

What I said was please have the courage of your convictions and back West Ham. This means if you're so sure we're finished, why not make some money on it by betting on West Ham? If you're not actually certain that they're going up instead of us, then stop whinging like a child when something finally goes against us.

Mullins will do just fine. Much better choice than Tabb IMO. Losing 1 player should not mean our promotion campaign is over.

Karacan's our most overrated player anyway. Mullins is an adequate replacement.

Karacan's our best player, but we are not a one man team. Mullins can come in without us having to change our shape - that's important.

It's not that anyone isn't a fan of Karacan, but I can't quite see how he would be our best player in comparison to Jason Roberts (from someone who didn't want us to sign JR in the first place   )

I agree. If JR was here in August he'd have won POTS by a country mile. Love Jem too though obviously.
