Phase 1: Pass fit and proper test. I wish it would hurry up already.

Everything has been provided to the PL now, so we're now just waiting on their decision. It'll be done when it's done, but everyone is confident it will be signed off shortly.

This really should be in the TSI thread.

My thoughts were just that thread started becoming "is this done yet", "why isn't this done", "any news on this" blah blah

If we go about it sensibly, then I am incredibly excited by this. The prospect of watching a Reading team regiarly challenging for Europe and doing well in cup competitions in a luscious 40k stadium just sounds amazing.

I read somewhere that, in terms of owners, we are (or are soon to be) the 9th richest club in the world.

Ups and Downs So......did everyone enjoy the announcement on the pitch today? :?

I'm getting a bit worried now. No self respecting billionaire wears a dodgy jester hat unless more embarrassing times are ahead. Such as not being ratified as a fit and proper football chairman for a premier league club.

I'm slightly worried now, the higher media presence has me more worried and sweeping suggestions of us being a top 10 europ.... english club in 5 years has me concerned.

I hate our fans. Nice to see Anton enjoying today and look forward to the completion of the takeover.

What was the findings of the football league panel before it was confirmed we were promoted? Or did they just wash their hands of it the minute we went up?

That is of course assuming Boris is involved.

No-one will know what their findings were, but I am aware that the PL requested all of the FL's documents and then conducted their own additional checks. From what I have heard we've given the PL what they asked for and are now just waiting for them to sign this off and we can move on. AZ was advised to be more transparent and that is why we have seen and heard a lot more of him since winning promotion. Also the visit from his father is no coincidence, who at this stage we do not know for certain is an investor, but it would seem a little strange that he just fancied a visit to Berkshire. The club are confident we're there now, so it's just a case of when, and they hope it will be this week.

This will all culminate in a Reading FC themed restaurant in Shanghai

Assuming he is, who are the 8 above us?

I'm glad he was advised to be more transparent. Will only benefit us in the long run now he's built an emotional attachment to the club (in a sense). I've seen more on Anton in the last couple of months than I have Madejski in the last couple of years!

Would you prefer he said "We'll fight to maintain our Premier League status every year for the next five years, but we expect to get relegated back to the Championship next year in honesty"?

What's wrong with ambition? For Christs sake, last Summer all we got were people moaning about SJMs lack of ambition, now it looks like we'll have a new owner who has some desire and ambition to make the club something special, and now we've got too much ambition.....

Just enjoy the ride for what it is....!

Manchester City, Lyon, QPR, Deportivo, Arsenal, Seattle, Chelsea, AC Milan, Reading, Real Madrid.
That will be the top ten based on owner wealth and revenue.

It's good to see another Russian with a 5 year plan. Liquidate the Kulaks.

We're getting too carried away. You never know, this time next year we could already be relegated. Let's take this one season at a time... :!:

Does Boris actually have billions though?

When I have tried to do some searches, I cannot see anything come up?

The bloke doesn't even have a wiki page.

There's cause for concern!
