Even if we steal a march, why would he join us? He'd only have to wait a month or so to have all the options open to him.

This is spot on.

We may or may not be interested in Hoilett but there is no way any Club is going to make a bid to Blackburn with the player going out of contract. When a player gets this close to the end of his contract you have nothing to gain by doing so as the player will consider all options anyway.

Maybe he's close to Roberts who's put in a good word. Very unlikely we'll get him... but a cheeky bid can't hurt.

Maybe theyre worried about just how much they would get if it to tribunal. A certain 5 mill mabye more appealing then what the authorities, who, let's be honest, know nothing, decide to give them.

But they can't force him to come to us. It'll be his choice, no matter how much Blackburn want the cash.

I doubt we'd be going for him (if we are) if we didn't have an inkling about whether he'd be interested or not. We do have one of his former team mates playing for us as well.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... ep-Hoilett

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have been linked with a bid to keep the 21-year-old in English football.

UEFA Champions League finalists Bayern Munich, meanwhile, have been mooted as one of several teams on the continent to have been impressed by Hoilett.

He made what could prove to be his final appearance for Rovers in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Chelsea and he has featured over 90 times for the club.

Pains me to say it, but I think both Hoilett and Gylfi are out of our reach when you see the clubs being linked :(

IMO we NEED a creative midfielder to pose a threat in the PL. I'm sure Brian has his targets.... Gonna be a long summer of speculation more than weve ever had before.

Quite possibly but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try for them otherwise we'll never know/get anywhere.

As much as I can't see it happening, you can't really put him in any of the top 8 clubs or so and say he will be a guaranteed starter. I know he can also play up front too but the majority of these teams already have awesome strikers in form.

Arsenal - Walcott/Alex O-C
Chelsea - Mata/Malouda/Kalou
Liverpool - Possibly if Kuyt leaves
Man City - No Chance
Everton - Coleman but still possible
Newcastle - Jonas gut/obertan/Ben Arfa
Spurs - Lennon
Man Utd - No chance

Wouldn't want to be sitting on the bench I imagine. No doubt there will be other clubs interested the likes of Villa I imagine would probably be a good move for him if they get the right manager in. He comes to us though he will no doubt have a consistent run in the team whether that be up front or on the wing. So if you think about it like that we might have an outside chance of getting him in!

This would be the single biggest  of the season if we got him.

Of course we wont! Some of you really need to put your feet back on the ground.

If Pog joins, maybe might encourage other big names to join. The Hoilett situation has been quiet for sometime now haven't heard any clubs linked with him especially.

Who knows after whats happened today just shows how far this club has come in a short space of time. Its difficult to keep a level head when you think that only a couple of years or so ago we were looking destined for relegation to league 1 around december time and now look where we are.

Believe!
