Obviously this needed another thread cos the manager merry-go-round and LOLiverpool threads wouldn't have covered it.

Sigurdsson to follow him to Liverpool? I very much doubt he'd sign for Swansea without Rodgers as manager, and I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, though managerless, Liverpool were interested in Gylfi and would encourage their new manager to target Sigurdsson if he was still available. It's an interesting one.

You'd have to feel for Swansea if they suddenly lost both... (nahh)

He hasn't been appointed - yet. He's now in discussions with Huw Jenkins the Swansea chairman.

What can he offer him though?

They can't even afford their own training ground

This is the real test of Rodgers. He needs to have learned from his mistakes from us as Liverpool is a similar assignment, just on a far bigger scale and under far more scrutiny. No team playing his way to inherit from Martinez this time.

marcusopp See liverpool have just appointed him!
I reckon he'll suck big time.

He did well at swansea because he continued what martinez had started, he doesn't have any foundations at liverpool to start from.

When will our moron fans accept he's an excellent manager and the decision to sack him was foolish even though McDermott has done brilliantly?

Actually, the decision to sack him has worked out brilliantly for both him and the club - the ultimate win-win

Yep. Furthermore, McDermott as a bloke shits all over Rodgers, the shifty conceited b@stard. Can you imagine Rodgers getting up in front of a mob of p*ssed up twats in the Turtle and doing a short impromptu speech?

McD > Rodgers.

He was an odious nasty shifty little weasel of a man and he'll be back on the scrapheap soon enough.

One game that sticks in my memory is Peterborough away. 2 up at half-time, we lost 3-2. Rodgers was absolutely clueless in that second half. Looked totally out of his depth. No way could he stay on as Reading manager during his tenure at the Mad Stad. It was embarrassing. Fair play for his subsequent successes and time will tell whether he is good enough to be a Liverpool manager. I have my doubts though.

3 years in management and he's already got the fans of three clubs against him. That's some going.

Agreed. I can't quite fathom how his stock has risen so high. Take Gylfi out of the equation & they were relegation fodder. I predict he won't even last a season.
