Team for Stoke

Apologies if I have missed one, but can't see a thread on this. As it is the first game, less predictable than usual. here is my suggestion:

Feds
Gunter, Gorkss, Pearce, Harte
Jobi, Guthrie, Ledge, McCleary
Alf, Pog

Subs McCarthy, Shorey, Mariappa, HRK, Jem, Hunt, Church. (or Tabb for Jem if he is not fit enough)...

I feel this is tough on Cummings and HRK especially after pre-season, but I think Mariappa can cover RB (or of course Cummings could cover LB!)

Seems pretty spot on to me, and unless we get hammered on Saturday, could be the team for the first month or so IMO

The only potential change to that is possibly Shorey in for Harte, although I think Hartey has it.

That will be the team barring injuries. No game changers on the bench for me which is a worry and the one we did have got sold to Wednesday!

Think that is the same team as the OP but I agree that this starting 11 looks nailed on. Harsh on Cummings but I don't think we have paid a near record fee for Gunter to sit on the bench - although you could say the same about Mariappa but I cannot see either Pearce of Gorkks being replaced unless results go the wrong way.

Not so sure. I know its been done a 1000 times on other threads, but Pog and Roberts are too alike (apart from the obvious) and if Alf bangs 1 or 2 in by the 3rd game I can't see Roberts walking back in.

It's cringey, no doubt about that. A commemorative poster would be better, in my opinion if it had some nice high quality photos and left it at that. Something kids can put on their walls.

But, whilst it's not my cup of tea, I won't be surprised if they all get snapped up.
