I really cannot see what the issue is here TBH. If you didn't want to get a clapper then you didn't have to. Those that did and used them for the right purpose - fair play. Each to their own and i took a few myself.

Agreed that these song sheets are probably just to help out the newer fans. It isn't always easy for newer people to hear what people are chanting.

Some people on here moan about when the atmosphere is bad, but moan when the club tries to do something about it too. Make up your minds!
.

It's what they try to do about it that is the problem. Replacing some of the librarians they have appointed as stewards would be far more effective than clappers. Yesterday we were gestured at by a steward for shouting 'Off! Off! Off!' too loudly for his liking when the ref bottled out of giving Whitehead his second yellow for blatently body checking Pog! No swear words, gestures or anything else - just too loud!

So in future I presume we must only whisper any penalty appeals? No seeking to influence officials at the Mad Stand!

Did the Steward look like Huey Lewis?

Had to google to see what he looks like now but an old Huey Lewis? - probably.

Those embarrassing "songhseets". They weren't "songs", they were spazzy chants for spotty pre-pubescents and, even if the whole Mad House joined in, they would still create as much atmosphere as there is on Mars. Probably.

There was, on the other hand, a very good example of fans creating an atmosphere, showing there support and having virtually the whole of the away section singing. Those nice chaps from Hanley have even put a video of it on YouTube for your reference.

Where's the bit where the Reading fans silence those nice lads from Hanley by singing "Dave Kitson what a bargain" and "Sonko is Superman"?

I must admit, I did chortle at the Dave Kitson chant.... and so did many of the Stoke fans, too.
