Yes, Federici, from the reactions of his family, has had a tantrum because he's been dropped. Have you read this thread?

Divvyrobbieroyal I'm really surprised Feds has the nerve to kick off like this, as BM says no one is un-droppable.
This whole situation has got well out of hand....
Judging by what AMc is saying Brian has promised him a decent run in the side.
As mentioned, he did it before when he didn't get his place back when he returned from injury and McDermott stuck with McCarthy, who by that point was playing well and should have felt very hard done by when he was benched to keep the peace. Brian caved in, clear and simple, but this time he needs to stand his ground. Managing in the Premiership is a different ball game altogether. If you don't stamp your authority on the dressing room, you will lose them, and it will all fall apart.
For now, Feds deserves to be No.2 and McCarthy has earned the right to start. It's now up to Alex to keep the shirt, and Adam to work hard to get another chance. Failing that, January wont be far away and the arrogant little twat can leave. We have Stuart Taylor, more than suitable if called upon, Alex McCarthy and the impressive Mikkel Andersen all vying for the shirt. It's probably our strongest position, so more fool Adam Federici for getting way above his station.

Platypussfacaldaqui Have a heart. We've no evidence, other than tweets by his women, that he is getting above his station; certainly we have no evidence that he has rebelled against Brian in any way.

blueroyals Seeing how last time we were in the PL we were relegated on goal difference, how, after conceding 5 goals in 3 games (3 of which being complete fcuk ups on his part) can Federici be so selfish to demand that his error-prone ass continue to be played in goal?
USA_Loyal_Royal innocent until proven guilty. if he did rebel and not want to sit on the bench, screw him, we'll get along well enough without him. we dont need arrogant pricks ruining the team spirit mcdermott has been trying to build. we have suitable backups.

sandmanRoyallyFcuked What a joke. One thing is for sure, our club wont tolerate that. Federici needs to man up and accept the decision, he has clearly been dropped for a good reason. Why not give McCarthy a chance, he has proved he is at Feds level, if not better. I remember when he got a run in the team when we went on the first winning streak (2010-11 season) he was superb. He was shakey against Spurs for obvious reasons, he needs a few games. He was very close to keeping out Defoe's opener as well. If this is the last we see of Federici at Reading then McCarthy should be the only choice we have. I dont ever want to see Stuart "Ive sat on the bench for most of my career and i'm happy to keep doing so" Taylor in a Reading shirt.
He hasn't proven he's at Feds level at all, how many Championship medals has he won? And don't say last season because they might as well have give the fans a medal because we had more involvement than McCarthy (well maybe not the west stand). McCarthy has had 14 appearances in a Reading shirt that does not prove he is at Federici's level at all. When he got a run in the team he conceded 3 at Palace, 3 at Forest he also conceded 2 against a very poor Middlesborough side and that's not even mentioning the 3 he conceded against a Sheffield United team that were relegated the following week.

sandman The club didn't make McCarthy say anything. McDermott lied and was forced to come clean because McCarthy was too thick and unprofessional to keep his mouth shut.
