Makes sense with Russia, but why do games always start early in Switzerland?

And for this competition, officially supporting Liverpool and Solskjaer's Molde.

Channel 5 will probably be more entertaining tonight, with cops on patrol in Southend and a documentary on Douglas Bader.

Maybe the song should now be "Thursday night, ITV4"

I guess, I just thought in general games kicked off at 7.45/8.00 UK time - always thought that was mandated by UEFA, so wondered why Switzerland was different.

Very entertaining game in Bern with Liverpool running out 5-3 winners. A classic comedy goal courtesy of naive defending, good brace by Shelvey though.

Solid enough away draw for Newcastle.

Noisy and good sized away contingent of Lazio fans at Spurs up to their old tricks again. Offensive chants clearly aimed at Defoe amongst others. Seem to remember they directed abuse at their own Dutch player Aaron Winter around the same time Gaza was playing for them. Game ended in 0-0 stalemate.

Had the Spurs game on in the pub last night with volume off - what were they chanting?

The usual monkey type noises when Spurs' dark players went near their fans section. There are also a couple of quite strong politically themed chants- albeit in Italian.

Normally for a result like that you might say it was men v boys.
With the team that Liverpool put out it was more like boys v boys.
Good headed goal by young Andre Wisdom who has progressed well through the England age groups.

Nothing new with Italian clubs. Only heard monkey noises at Defoe last night from my seat. Some of the loudest support I've heard for some time.

Watched the Panathinaikos vs Spurs game, sparse crowd. The stadium looked like Edgbaston on the third day of a dull County Championship match.

Be nice to see the English clubs actually bother to try and do well in this...not sure how long it will last though.

Pardew was moaning about players being tired..and that was with a home game and a side that showed 9 changes from their last league game!

Just seen that Joey Barton scored for Marseille direct from a corner. He'll be QPR bound before long.
