Team for QPR

by BR2 » 25 Sep 2012 13:22

Anybody going?
Anybody interested?
My view FWIW is that Brian should put out the side that he expects to start with v Newcastle on Saturday.
These players are just getting to know each other so surely the more they play together ,the better.
He already knows what Church,Hunt,Morrison,Tabb,Cummings,Bryn etc can do so why would he play them as they are only back-up players and playing at QPR in a League Cup game isn't going to prove that they can hack it at Premier level?
Also the little matter of Revenue-presumably the club is interested in a cup run to get even more money in the coffers to help fund the drop in crowds next season.

Full strength 4-4-2. We need these guys to start playing well together.

Yeah, 4-4-2 and an instruction to go out and play some football.

Suppose I might give Mariappa a run out depending on how he's settled in during training.

That's the same team I'd start with except for the two changes I've made in bold.

Fordham has tweeted that Kebe "is fine to face QPR" and that McD expects to make changes.....

But will he risk Kebe getting injured again before Saturday?

Interesting in theory, but isn't hoping Jobi Mac sits like hoping tomorrow will last 25 hours? Seems like there's really no point to bother. I guess there's more of a chance in a CC game, but I'd still rather see us building toward what will be our primary squad, which I hope and expect Jobi will be a part of. That aside, I would like to see what HRK can to with 60+ min.

Full strength team please.

Mainly because i've spent £15 and will also be showcasing us to some potential new plastics, which could result in a £1-200 increase in revenue for the club over the next 4-5 years as and when one of the Manchester teams visit and they want to come along.

I'd put Cummings in.

Play Shorey to give him more game time
Same with Mariappa
Church and Hunt to start up front

Kebe, Karacan, Guthrie, McAnuff
Roberts, ALF

Harsh on Cummings, HRK and Hunt probably. As I think I've said elsewhere, we gain the most by getting players who haven't really been involved yet a bit more up to speed in case we need to ring the changes in the league. I don't see a victory or more game time for the current first 11 to be particularly big as I'm not sure it'll really translate into the league.

But giving back up players time on the pitch can only help their readiness and maybe push the first team. I don't expect this to be the starting 11, but it's probably what I'd be looking to do.

Is Roberts fit yet? I thought he was still a couple of weeks away

No idea. Assumed if Kebe was back Roberts was bound to be.

Pog if he's not.
