First time i've managed to see Windsor FC 2.0 bit of tweaking, fitness and getting to know each players game and a settled side and results will come. It's such a poor level a bit of organisation and you will pick up results. Just makes me shake my head at last season even more!

True, but those are the exactly the things you aren't going to get with a zero budget. Players have less motivation to train and those that do will soon be on their way. The team will be anything but settled.

Yep you a quite right that no budget does cause those issues but alot of sides in the league are in the same boat. I'm guessing Windsor are selling the pitch and bigger than most in the league crowd to get people in and to stay. That said the crowd has dropped dramatically from a few years ago and as soon as the side is picking up wins they need to do one of those free ticket days

Reading Town on a bit of a role right now, seemingly following the hasty return of Graham Lewis from Marlow

Do you think clubs playing on Monday nights actually has any positive effect be that on or off the pitch? Clearly windsor went with Monday K/O's with a strong squad and fitter than most in the league so i guess it wouldn't of been as negative as i think it might be for a bunch of players cobbled together. No time for training sessions between games etc. I can see why clubs may want to do it on champions league nights but when QPR who have a decent following in Windsor and West Ham are on the telly aswell i doubt many floating voters will bother

... Stag Meadow last night (Mon 1st) they were beaten in the League Cup 1-2 by Colliers Wood.

Attendance reportedly 94 - 1-0 up 1st half (Lazarczuk ?) conceded 2 quick goals in the last 15'.

Elesewhere in the B&B Cup - Hungerford lost 204 @ Beaconsfield SYCOB

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not many NL games on this midweek apart from full programme in the Conference South incl:
Basingstoke v Bromley
Maidenhead v AFC Hornchurch - might pop along
Farnborough v Eastleigh
few more B&B Cup & Trophy ties - Flackwell v Marlow looks lively; Thatcham v Burnham
Ash v Sandhurst in the Southern Combination Cup.
Newbury @ Thame in the Hellenic Prem league &
Hartey Wintney away @ Bedfont Sports in the CCLP
Shame for the young Windsor lads last night (again). Played pretty well but strength and lack of experience was the undoing again.
Royalist, FWIW, the reason initialy given for Monday nights was to avoid clashes with European football games and other non-league games thus attracting more ground-hoppers. Interesting point you make though because again, there were loads of changes from the team that turned out on Saturday, and that seems to be a recurring theme. May well be because of the age of the players. It would be a big ask for our 16/17 year old full back to play 2 games in 3 days against grown men.
Lazarczuk's goal was a worldy. We won't see a better goal than that this season.
Not sure if you can change set midweek days in the middle of a season but clearly its not bringing in the fans only 94 last night. Granted it was a cup game but its not as if its bringing in huge numbers to offset the lack of time to prepare a young side.
When we played Spelthorne Sports in the 2nd round last season at home, the crowd was 104, and they brought loads (well, several!) more than Colliers Wood did last night, plus there were no Premier League matches on the TV that night.
I'd therefore suggest that despite the extended losing run we are actually getting a level of support that is better than might have been expected.
Stick that in yer pipe Mr Misery.
Its still hardly bringing in others though is what i meant which is the whole purpose of moving to Mondays! Worth a go to see what would happen. Not enough non league sides take risks to see what would happen if x y or z happened. I know some people have even wondered out loud about moving saturday home games to friday nights whilst i don't think Windsor is the right club for that, Scotty the Stag is in bed by evening, i think some other local clubs should give it a go and if promoted correctly it could bring in fans who are busy watching league football on Saturday nights
But Royalist, the average gate in 2011/12 went up from the last season of W&E, even excluding the 802 v Egham so it seems reasonable to assume that the Monday night policy DID work.
You just have to accept that 94 for a piddly Cup Competition 1st Round is not bad at this level. I can assure you it won't be bettered by many other 1st round matches.
It would be interesting to compare the W&E Tuesday night gates with the 2011/12 Monday night gates. Maybe I'll do that if I get bored one day.
Should make it clear i'm just wondering if the benefit of Monday night gates are worth having a young side play 2 games in 3 days
Royal Rother But Royalist, the average gate in 2011/12 went up from the last season of W&E...
Why does that matter? I thought you said the two clubs weren't related in anyway?
For Truro read Guernsey in a few years unless there is loads of money for year after year after year after year they will come unstuck.
It doesn't "matter" in the slightest smart arse, but it does offer a relevant stat in the context of the discussion.
Their model may not work long-term but Guernsey don't pay their players who are all island based so there's a massive difference to the Truro model which was reliant on signing the best players they could attract, supported by a sugar daddy.
Sorry, just didn't understand the relevance of comparing attendances for two clubs that aren't (apparently) really related.
I think the ties to the old club, bar the ground and fans, are nearly gone now! Keith Scott era Windsor FC that would be a valid comment.
