Well at least we held a team to under 60% possession...

We can't pass, we have no creativity in the final third, we can't cross the ball well, we struggle to maintain any semblence of possession, as well as not being able to hold leads when we get them, and we get run over in the midfield.

So the positive is there is nowhere to go from here but up? Right? :|

Time to 'move on' not learn from our mistakes and play exactly the same way in our next game!

What's the point of putting a positive spin on anything when we have just lost in a pretty toothless display to another of our relegation rivals?

Whilst I appreciate 'Villa's a hard place to go'

SCIAG Positives:
Best performance of the season from a Reading right back
Tabb had possibly his best ever game for us
Shorey played well
No Gorkss, and both centre backs did well.

Negatives:
No creativity
We made Villa look like Swansea.

I'm getting worried about fellow fans , " Tabb had possibly best game ever for us " !!! I presume the demon drink is involved !

:D We have two class goalkeepers (we do, Federici was bets keeper in the Championship last year).
:D Nicky Shorey is good enough for the Premier League.
:D Morrison is looking like a star of the future, Pearce when selected will complete a young, british centre back pairing to be proud of.
:D Guthre and Karacan, if fit and picked will be another young, British (he's not Turkish!) pairing of decent quality.
:D Kebe might get fit again one day.
:D We have a manager who has morals and came through the ranks and if he left would make me very sad!
:D We are not yet adrift.
:D We could have won today if Hunt was not fouled on the line and Le Fondre had a bit more luck in front of goal.
:D We have an owner who seems to behave in an ambitions yet responsible way.

Oh, and importantly, we are in a league that 51 other clubs in the football league are envious of us for - WE ARE OVERACHIEVING!!!

 Negatives are that Brian seems to be cutting off his nose to spite his face with Pearce and Guthrie situation, we can't afford to.
 We are playing a style of football that is outdated.
 Our right back situation is a concern.
 It will be tough to attract good players in January if we are adrift.

But... I'll say it again, we're overachieving and may go down to come back stronger again, with McDermott I hope!!
Our wingers, crucial to our style of play are out of their depth.

weird game, we seemed to start quite well but after the first half we seemed devoid of any ideas. Villa were terrible so if we cant beat them we have no hope. Mind you just watched the highlights of the sunderland v qpr game and that was easily alot alot worse than the villa reading game.

despite playing rubbish and managed just 1 win in 13, we are just 4 points from safety and 7 from mid table - it sure is a weird league.

a point against utd wont help us much but would be a good result tbh.

most telling stat for me on match of the day - we were botoom of the league by a mile for possession - 68.5%, next lowest were on 71% - top teams like man u, man c and swansea and chelsea were on 81%ish

I think in our hearts we all knew what was coming tonight. Villa were poor but sadly we were poorer. When you lose to teams in the bottom six then I am afraid there will be only one end result and that is relegation.

We were just awful. In the centre of midfield where you MUST have quality we have none. ML is really awful the game passes him buy, dwells on the ball and gives it away. Out wide our final ball was awful. We created very little in clear cut chances as usual. Where does anyone honestly see us next season? We are down and I think tonight confirms it. We will too far behind to make the transfer window worth doing in January. Everything on the pitch is of championship level. Touch, passing, control and finishing (little of). We are not going to stay up with 10 0-0!

Yes BM should probably go now but it will not stop our relegation I am afraid. I doubt TSI will spend the money when relegation is on the cards. Furthermore, no class players will want to sign up. So what will we sign? More Championship level rubbish I am afraid. Can you see us getting any results against Man U, Soton and Arsenal maybe 1 point... so going into the new year we might get to 13 points.. MAYBE including a few other draws. Forget it!

We have messed up the whole season. We were woeful. It was embarrassing to watch.

Shorey is class. I also wonder if he questions why he came back.

Make him Captain under a new Manager.

In all fairness, both sides were f*cking dire.

That game made parks football on a Sunday morning look like tiki-taki Barcelona-style flimflam.

A distressing example of why the 'best league in the world' is actually a half-dressed whore's bag of f*cking shite.

Finishing from both sides was dismal. Passing was abysmal. Effort was minimal.

I'm about as arsed as the players were to carry on. Thank God for beer.

Cheers and that, yeah?

We just can't find a balance. Today we defended okay, but couldn't create any chances apart from two sitters which ALF missed. And yet last week it was chances galore but awful defending.
