Maguire Not surprised by this and good luck to him. Played to the very best of his ability for us this season and he'll get a great reception when he comes back but the times they are a-changin.
I don't like change

moonwalklikebas I've heard that Madrid and Man city are battling for his signature. So good of the club to let him leave!

Focher perfect attitude but not good enough.
Good decision by the club we need better.

PistolPete We are allowing him to go while at the peak of his career, that should get him a better wage at a better club. This is actually a good thing to do for all concerned.
We all like him, we all see that his form has been better than Ledge, it's just that we are *trying* to improve the squad and this is part of that process.
Perhaps Ledge is on wages that would be harder to shift? Perhaps Ledge is a key man n the dressing room? Who knows...

+1
Also someone mentioned it's being cut throat but I can imagine it's Brian being nice. He is giving Tabb a chance to get a decent contract and regular team football at age when this could be his last chance. He could sign for his boyhood club Brentford to help them get promoted or an average championship team like Charlton. He isn't the future of Reading he is a nice bloke gives his all but for whatever reason it's never really worked out for him here. I think Legs has got another year and half on his contract. Depending on how things go I can imagine him leaving at the end of that.

No Fixed Abode Why do you think Tabb has been playing quite a lot this season? To increase his market value so they can shift him on. That's business.

SPARTA Tabby is worth two Leigertwood's. They've got this the wrong way around IMO. Both are Championship midfielders though.

Only a good decision by the club if they do something PDQ about getting someone considerably better. What chances that?
I do, however, think it likely that people are misinterpreting what may have been said to him. I suspect it is most likely that he has been told the club won't stand in his way if he wants to leave and another club comes in for him. That's different from saying they want him out asap.

At least Leigertwood has goals in his game.
Don't see the problem with this, offers 110% every week, but his actual quality is limited. Don't think we will miss him.
People can't demand new signings and expect the same players to be in the squad. You have to make space for the new players and Tabb would be one of the first out the door.
