No Fixed Abode Reading fans hated other clubs for splashing the cash. TSI came in and promised big signings, Reading fans moved the goalposts and spending lots of cash was OK. They've continued to do things the 'Reading way' so far and you're all up in arms about it. Can you ALL please make up your mind. Thanks.

Never mind that when is Elphick signing?

andrew1957 I cannot help thinking the club will wait until 11pm and then announce 3 signings.

Anything less than that and this will go down as the worst transfer window in recent years. It will mean 10 first teamers out and just 3 in - including two players out that were amongst the best three performers of last season. That would be an absolute joke and so I continue to hope for good news.

Anything less than 3 signings will be a disappointment in my book – although I did vote 0 earlier as that is par for the course on recent deadline days.

Thanks, so it was ten out, I was trying to work that out earlier today. Gosh what a HUGE saving on wages plus a few millions for Kebe and Mapps. The bank balance may just about be in profit, or maybe not.

For the record the ten who had previously been part of our first team squad were: Mariappa, Kebe, Shorey, Harte, Andersen, Carrico, Church, Mills, Tabb and Hunt.

Lots of wages saved and 4-5M inward transfer fees. Just 700K spent on Williams and wages for him, Drenthe and Bridge.

You said it yourself TSI raised everyone's hopes by implying they had money to spend. Anton himself talked about not having to sell and getting seven players in, not three in and ten out. That is what is angering the fans so much. If he had said nothing is going to change the fans would have accepted it albeit begrudgingly.

Not to mention the talk of 7 signings this summer, then 3 more today etc etc. Still, there is an hour to go...

That's one of the two deals which have fallen through.

Is it even more worrying given the fact NA clearly stated he never wanted any loan deals

Most of the Ten won't be missed. Need to take a chance on some premiership academy cast off's.

So it wasn't more a case of saying he'd only use loans to bring in players who will really make a difference and not just as squad fillers?

Quite different to never wanting loan deals.

So yes he does not want to unless he has to, if we can't prize players away with hard cash, I can't see any more joy in loan deals.

Oh and all the good players who can make a difference will have been snapped up today while NA has been too busy combing his fringe

Saying that they wanted 3 and letting it get to today for it all to go to shit. Just LOL.

Hammond is the big winner once again, imagine the commission he's earned selling players ! He couldn't even buy a 99p Hamburger at McDonalds with a £5 note
