Time to lock this now - it's over.

It is ironic though that Brian was beaten by an uninspiring Reading team that papered over the cracks by sneaking a late winner. The same scenario repeated on a regular basis delivered the Championship for Brian.

Basingstoke Royal Definitely the right decision. The passing game is what we need and our players are now beginning to learn how to do it even if we do lack a cutting edge at the moment. That will come.

The Hoofball that leeds served up is horrible to watch and will never work in the premier league as was proved last season.

Considering they had more possession than us they can't have been hoofing too much. They weren't better than us tonight and they weren't any worse either.

They were one goal and three points worse.

HTH.

Don't know what you said but fcuk off anyway.

First and foremost as a Reading fan, who supported our team throughout tonight, I'm delighted we have 3 points.

Amusing to see a McDermott team and an Adkins team play out a mirror match this evening.

Very harsh for Brian to lose tonight with such a late goal. It was great to see him back.

Answer still yes, obviously. But I did nearly get a lump in my throat reading his post-match quote. Obviously still cares a great deal about club and fans.

Having signed less than a handful of players, that wasn't really an Adkins team.

I'd rather lose with a real man like Brian in charge than win with an empty suit like Adkins.

Well I would suggest you go and support Leeds then.

That's such a nonsense comment.
Brian is a great bloke, had a couple of great seasons with us and will always be welcome back.
Adkins has, like Brian, come up the hard way as a manager and has a far superior record of success. Managers need to be judged by what their teams do on the pitch, the interviews are irrelevant and anyone who judges a manager on the quality of their post match cliches should stick to watching the game on Sky IMHO.

Weird that he was in front of the other dugout though!

Agreed. How dare Adkins refer to Karacan as 'one of our own?' He isn't one of us! McDermott is a proper Reading man, Adkins will just come and go and not give a shit.

If they're newbies then they probably haven't been around for long enough to realise that Brian was one of our best two managers ever, and hence don't understand why it was wrong to get rid of him.
