It's like talking to Michael Howard. Why is it such a hard question for you to answer? I thought you were a fan o' Frankie?

Has it been given to him now? Everything I've seen has it down as an OG.

Frank Lampard will always be one of those footballers who came close to being half decent, but was always lagging behind the likes of world class talent like Gerrard and Scholes.

Scholes, agreed. Gerrard, far from world class, perhaps a marginally better passer and tackler but not exceptionally better than Lampard.

Measuring them in an England shirt, Lampard had a great spell a decade ago and then has been 'below par'. Gerrard never really had a 'spell' but has been 'ok' over his whole international career.

Neither have a lot to shout about in that respect, though once again - limited as they are, it's hard to fault either of them for club. Which begs the question...

What ? Why have they not produced their club form for England ? I don't know, maybe Kes can answer ?

Gerrard is Mr. Liverpool, he won them the Champions League and FA Cup.

Lampard has mainly been a passenger for club and country; whilst Gerrard is the England captain, which says a lot.

I bet if you posted the top 10 caps won Gerrard would be higher. Same for caps as captain.Or most chances created during qualifying for the world cup. Link ? Lol.

Out of interest and not taking sides, how many times has Gerrard played in an attacking position compared to Lampard?

To be honest, I'd have Lampard down as the better goal scorer in a stat battle, anyway.

I agree Lampard is a better goalscorer. Gerrard has more to his game though. Pinpoint 40 yard passes, much more of a disciplined role as a deep lying midfielder etc. Anyway, Kes reckons he can get me to bite whenever he likes but he can't. So to prove it, I am outta here

Biting in the evening again I see!

If Gerrard has more to his game, how come Frank has more goals and more assists than Gerrard? (Prem).
