Anyone actually believe he'll get til the end of next season? Levy will spend the next 6 months touting the job to managers that might move at the end of the season. Does Klinsmann's USA contract run out after the World Cup?

Sherwood probably knows it too, but at least he'll now get a bit of a pay-off if that does happen. And if he does quite well, he should have no trouble getting another half-decent job.

But Sherwood to do a better job than AVB, really Mr Levy???????? :|

If Sherwood is his best shot, then it makes the sacking of AVB seem just that little bit more pointless.

soggy biscuit The example I thought of at the weekend would be Martin Jol. Say Fulham wanted rid, they didn't want the legal headache and Jol himself was p*ssed off at losing his job and being forgotten about. Wigan just sacked Coyle, but were lower in the table than expected and had a decent squad. Job might be happy to be loaned to Wigan for the remainder of the season feeling that he would have a pretty good chance of improving them and keeping his reputation in place, Wigan then pay his wages for the season or split them with Fulham.

Not sure about this. Really not sure. It would like having an ongoing mare at work then being told you are being seconded to a rival firm until your contract runs out. Can you imagine working at Waitrose only to be told that next week you have to go and work at Asda?

Poor analogy. Better to say you are working at Waitrose on big money and are told you are going to be fired, though ASDA have said they would like you there for 6 months and would cover the wage, you also believe ASDA to have spent lots of money improving their brand yet seem to not be having much success with that and you feel you could fix that

The fact Sherwood has survived 2 manager sackings (Redknapp and now AVB) proves that Levy rates him....Just cos he's never managed before doesn't mean he isn't any good. He knows Spurs, he knows the Premier League and he knows Levy

Maybe.

Couldn't really see the point of sacking AVB whilst they are where they are....and the appointment of Sherwood seems like somebody is going to be in for a fall.....but, you may well be right.

Makes little sense sacking a manager who has actually managed and won things at a high level for someone who has done none of that.

Let's hope Sherwood does well.

We need English managers (and the English coaches they tend to employ) doing well in the top flight, to stop the madness in the game which is the obsession with foreign.

If Sherwood does well there's every chance he'll be the next England boss. He's very lucky to get the Spurs job.

Lomas given the old heave-ho at Millwall after a Boxing day dicking from Watford.

Just as importantly, he knows and gets on with Baldini. For now.

Lomas never had a chance at Millwall what with his West Ham connections and it really was only a matter of time. He also had a tough act to follow when Jackett called it a day.
