Nice try but this has been in the making since being founded. The first choice was way too expensive and would have taken too long hence the off the peg Nike kits of the last 2.5 seasons. This kit is going to shock and surprise a lot of people and it is not what one would expect to see. You will just have to get down to SM on Saturday lunchtime to see the fuss for yourself!

Got to see a game yesterday even though my first choice was ruled out for being stupidly expensive and the second choice called off while en route. In the end we went to see Harlow Town v Ware on their new 3G pitch. Harlow on the fringes of the play off places against bottom of the table Ware suggested a one sided contest but the hosts only managed a 1-0 win in absolutely dreadful conditions.

Not trying anything! Just taking a poke at clubs who change their kits all the time! Perhaps a few people did buy for xmas gifts but only a few!

I seem to remember the initial design suggested when the club was formed being green and red stripes with green sleeves but can't see that as being too much of a shock so I am definitely intrigued.

The club's forum says it is a football first OWTTE - long trousers with compulsory co-ordinated gloves I reckon!

... Had a bit of a delve and there is an interesting report on the CDG website - apparently none of their first team wanted to travel not sure if it was specific to the fixture - but the manager (Frankie Vines - been around a bit in local NL) states he is trying to build a new squad.

The team for the game at Guernsey consisted of players from their U21s & U18s.

Guernsey still played well and Ross Allen notched 6.

All CCL premier games off and as of 5 minutes ago, only 2 CCL Div 1 games yet to fall. Looks like the need for 3G pitches at grass roots football is becoming more of a necessity.

... by the way I left it late today - in case anything survived but to no avail: - ALL local 'NL' games OFF, barring miracles at Newbury - they couldn't get hold of their ref and were sending a photo of their (underwater) pitch to the league to get their game postponed.

EDIT: Newbury confirmed as OFF now.

Couple of matches NOT actually declared OFF yet in the N.Berks up nr Wallingford - but I'm 99.9% sure that is just pending confirmation - since the opponents are only likely to be about 15 mins or so travelling time away?

... nearest 'proper' match to survive appears to be in the Southern Prem @ St Albans but I've been there and don't want to aquaplane round the M25 this PM anyway!

Think Corinthian casuals pink and brown with light blue shorts used to be the worst kit in football but this one MIGHT be worse. The frankly bizarre bowler hats, shoes and umbrella look tops it off!
