SCIAG there's no two ways about it. Reading career over, nearly four years (!) after his debut.

:?

Our subs today were Royston Drenthe, Adam le Fondre, and Hope Akpan. To the best of my knowledge, none of those people are Jake Taylor.

I wouldn't be particularly surprised if he makes a sub appearance or two before the end of the season, though I think it looks increasingly unlikely. I would be shocked if he gets a new contract.

He was decent but let's not get carried away. Gunter is far superior in my eyes - gives it away every now and then but the defensive work he does sweeping up for the centre backs is exceptional.

I particularly enjoyed McAnuff slagging off the fans, and he was right too; constantly moaning at a misplaced pass (players do make mistakes) and berating arguably one of the best servants this club has ever had.

Then to top it all off, after the flids in Y25/26 had been put in their place, they sang the Jobi McAnuff song like nothing had happened.

If you like players who are constantly caught out of position and always get caught under the ball when it's in the air then yes Gunter is your man. As we saw against Barnsley if you put him under a bit of pressure he's shot.

Obita is a winger playing at LB but it doesn't look like it, unlike Gunter he gets forward but he has the ability to get back to defend and is far more competent in the air.

Considering Obita seems to be a much superior left back than he was a winger (and quite possibly PotS) after only a few months...and keeping the much more experienced international Kelly out of the side, it speaks volumes. (Yes, I know Kelly is *really* a right back, but he has played Left Back often.)

He's not without fault, no player is, but he's going to be subject to a lot of interest if he continues his progress like he is. That's pretty much plain to see.

He didn't slag anyone off he told them to calm down. And his song started at the back the shouting particularly at him was mostly the front.

utter toilet, though as usual, the fans were the worst performer of the day.

What is up with Robson-Kanu's backside? he must have the biggest arse in sport. How does he even run* with so much 'junk in his trunk'?

I'd always back the boys etc etc but Kanu is just toilet. Frustrates the hell out of me. He ain't quick, can't beat a man, can't cross, can't hold the ball up... Might as well put a paperweight upfront. Don't get the fascination with him!

Game was oxf*rd awful but not as bad as Tuesday,

no confidence on the ball as usual, which means we start hoofing it and then can't do anything with it because we aren't setup to hoof it.

We really do look like a team suffering a massive confidence crisis and Saturday was a pretty woeful showing, again. I thought it was quite a decent game to watch though, but more so for Huddersfields contribution to it than ours.

Adkins must've been pulling his hair out watching them play quite nicely at times, with Adam Clayton looking very good in the middle for them and a player Adkins wanted (Wells) causing Morrison all sorts of problems. Oh how we could do with a mobile and hard working player like him to actually create a few things out of nothing and give our back four and midfield more to play up to.

Individually I thought McCarthy, Pearce and Obita had good games, whilst Hector did OK out of position but I think we sorely missed a player such as Guthrie to get on the ball and dictate the game. Against 3 in the middle Williams and Hector did well enough but we just didn't have their composure or confidence (and probably ability to be honest) to keep the ball and create much with it. It says a lot for Taylor and Akpan that those two were thrown in above them for a game we really needed to win to kick on for the play offs (not sure getting in them is a good idea at the moment).

Morrison looked exactly what he is, a relatively inexperienced, raw and unintelligent defender who hadn't played for months. Throwing him in seemed an odd decision from Adkins, but after Tuesday night I can imagine he felt he had to do something and it was a gamble worth taking perhaps. Morrison is going to have to get up to speed very quickly if he's to keep his place and not look like a liability.

All in all we looked disorganised and ragged at the back and lacking in ideas and confidence going forwards. It's not a good mix and unless something drastic happens to sort it out then we're in for a pretty painful run in.

The game was dull as but I actually thought we were very solid. McCarthy was much better, but still not his best, Obita is a little star in the making, Pog works so hard and is my POTS so far just for not giving up with such s**t support (obviously not but probably 3rd). Do not understand playing Hector over Taylor or Akpan. Anyone not applauding Akpan on is a div, back the player, don't demoralise him before he's kicked a ball! Morro had a shocker, didn't look 100% ready to come back in. McCleary was very poor. Drenthe didn't look good off the bench. Also, I'm bored of Alfie, he was like a poor Noel Hunt chasing those balls yesterday. Still, better than being anonymous as he usually is. He needs to find his form again, and quickly. Hudders were a good team and deserved the draw at least.

For the 2nd time this season - and without an apparently better alternative - I couldn't be bothered to attend, but I was heartened to see that NigeLOL at least ditched those useless League 1 clowns Akpan and Blackman. Saw the goal we conceded.....utterly appalling, I thought that Andy Crosby was (allegedly) a defender in his playing career, so why can't he manage to organise a back 4 which doesn't concede sloppy goals week-in week-out regardless of the personnel employed :?:
