I can't believe how rubbish that was. The second half was so poor I started to count how many passes there were in each Reading move. I only got past two once. Then we kicked the ball into touch.

Leigertwood back to his best.

Honourable mentions to McAnuff, Pog and Bridge for being rubbish as well.

We seemingly forgot what sport we were playing in the last 25 minutes so I'm happy with that result.

Cracking performance on the whole against a very good Leicester side and we just about edged it in chances and held on for a creditable point despite immense pressure at times. Obviously they were on top for large parts of the game. Much more like how we should be playing but still work to be done and easy to be up for this.

proper review once somekne does a back from the game thread. Anyone complaining about that is a spoilt brat.

I thought we were promising in patches. He'll of a goal from Pearce.

We can't get rid of HRK soon enough though.

Cracking it was not.

Edged the chances we did not.

More like how we should be playing it is not.

Looking forward to your full review.

I agree with Ian. Improvement on recent games. Not a great second half, but the first was very good. BBC say 13 shots v 18 which makes a change.

ayjaydee
USA_Loyal_Royal ledge is awful now. plain dreadful tackle...

Wasn't helped by HRK losing the ball from a promising position.

Which is pretty much all HRK ever does when in a promising position.

McCarthy - 8 - One great save and commanding in the air
Gunter - 6 - A bit gung-ho going forward, but also a bit wasteful with possession. Their right winger was good and Gunter allowed him too much space.
Bridge - 5 - Really doesn't look either match fit or up for the cause. Shame, because he ought to be a real asset. Also gave their winger too much space.
Morrison - 7 - Solid partnership with Pearce, missed a great chance with a header.
Pearce - 8 - Very good all round and fantastic goal
Hector - 7 - Held his position ok, but needs to defend the penalty area better, good use of his size but not mobile enough. A small notch up on Akpan.
Williams - 8 - Everywhere until his injury/fitness seemed to get the better of him. Crucial he's fit for the rest of the season.
Obita - 7 - Great when running with the ball, not so good as a link man in midfield. Decent enough performance for a wide man playing central.
MacAnuff - 6 - Worked hard as usual, just not enough end product.
McCleary - 8 - Dangerous, slightly lacked end product especially with his long distance shots!
Pogrebnyak - 7 - tried hard as usual but too isolated much of the game. Oh for a pacy striker...

Legs - 5 - Looked like a proper midfielder until 2 terrible mistimed tackles
Drenthe - 5 - Brought on to turn the game, but by then we were down to 10 and the ball was being hoofed past him
HRK - 5 - Anonymous. What has happened to his talent and ability??

Cracking performance??? Count me in as a spoilt brat then because I thought that was awful against a team already on their summer holidays. I have no idea what they do in training every day, as the lack of skills and tactics was at times embarrassing. These players earn tens of thousands a week and yet find it hard to control a ball or pass 10 yards to a teammate. How we are still sixth is beyond me. The clear out in summer can't come soon enough for me.

Can't recall Gunter getting anywhere near him all game.

yes you are a dickhead, from where I was sat it looked like one of our better performances of the season until 2 rather puzzling subs by the boss took away are momentum late in the game. after that we were hanging on

Well two of them were due to injuries to be fair. Although bringing on HRK in any scenario is always "puzzling".

McCarthy - 6 - Shocking effort for their goal and a bit flappy
Gunter - 7 - Still good
Bridge - 7 - Better than I expected
Morrison - 6 - Getting there
Pearce - 8 - Good goal and was always involved
Hector - 8 - Looked really elegant at the end, so MotM for that
Williams - 8 - I hope he can stay fit
Obita - 7 - Better at full back
MacAnuff - 7 - He's OK
McCleary - 8 - Sharp
Pogrebnyak - 6 - Tried hard, but the worst thing about this season has been watching other teams with strikers who can play a bit

Legs - 6 - Seemed to improve things until the red card
Drenthe - 3 - Gardening leave time; the summer's priority is to offload him
HRK - 6 - OK

Overall, it was a good point.

McCarthy - 7.5 Nice face work for the big save, but didn't have to make many saves.
Gunter - 6 Not his best. Got forward well in the first at the expense of defending. Clearly told to drop back in the break which dulled his edge.
Bridge - 5 Doesn't look fit. Could see what he wanted to do, just never seemed to have the tools to do it.
Morrison - 7.5 One of the better games for CB pairings we've had this season. Got split a couple of times, but to be expected. Protected McCarthy well
Pearce - 8 See Morrison + Goal
Hector - 5 Terrible midfielder, came into his own one we dropped back almost becoming another defender. How he was RFC MOTM is a complete mystery.
Williams - 9 Brilliant today. Best player on the pitch.
Obita - 7 Best stuff came when he drifted wide, but much better in the middle then last week.
McAnuff 6.5 OK did a lot of the un-sexy stuff, lost the ball under his feet a few times.
McCleary - 8 Fast, creative, what we have come to expect. Should have done better with his 1 on 1. Made it too easy by putting it at keeper hand height.
Pogrebnyak - 7 Work-hoarse, seemed to have found and extra couple of mph in the first. Became isolated in second or would have been 8. STOP DIVING

Leigertwood - 5.5 Loses a point and a half for stupid sending off. Steadied us when we were in trouble when he came on and was quite good. (Mongs will say he was crap)
Drenthe - 5 Came on at the wrong time. Had to defend once Legs went off, so not really his fault.
HRK - 4 Put Legeirtwood in the sending off place and lost the ball. Poor season for him. Needs to sort it out in summer.

How on earth can you give HRK a 6 and Drenthe a 3?
HRK had an extra 10 minutes on the pitch over Royston and they both did as little as eachother. MacAnuff a 7 is also laughable
