But isn't that cos Liverpool (and United) were the dominate force of English football, so the media world tend to think the casual football fan who hangs on pundits words would respect them more than say someone like John Bumstead saying it was a foul or not.

But Liverpool haven't been a dominant force in the English game for 25 years. Things have change a lot in that time. The back pass rule hadn't even come to fruition then.

IF that is true Mr 'Lampard's got the most assists, oh i just made it up'. Then it's because Liverpool have been one of the two biggest teams in the country with more of the best players from the periods that pundits come from and more of them want to pursue media careers rather than coaching or management.

I'm sure Chelsea, for example, would be better represented if they 'd been any good for more than 10 - 15 years and hadn't built the success they've had almost exclusively on foreign imports who've gone home or into coaching.

I'm sure Chelsea, for example, would be better represented if they 'd been any good for more than 10 - 15 years and hadn't built the success they've had almost exclusively on foreign imports who've gone home or into coaching.

I've not said anything about my preference of TV pundits. Just given you a possible reason why your favourite ex-Chelsea players haven't ended up as pundits. I'd quite like a bit more variety and not particularly from the top few clubs. The best managers weren't the best players and I don't see why that would be any different for being a pundit. No love or hatred for Liverpool from me.
