The FA oxf*rd up decades ago and emasculated themselves. The PL holds all the real power.

Meanwhile, UK Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has said England is ready to host the 2022 World Cup if Qatar is stripped of the tournament. There was a "strong case" for re-running the 2018 and 2022 bids if there is evidence of corruption, he added.

Has effectively killed any chance of us getting either in the event of a re run. he should have said " now is a time to come together to root out the corruption, only once we know the facts can FIFA decide the best course of action. We remain at their disposal to assist in any way we can" Has he not seen Yes Minster?

Ruud Gullit was on 5live yesterday openly laughing at FA and Dyke.

If Qatar are stripped of it then that vote will be re-run.

Personally though I think 2022 should just be awarded to Australia, which makes a whole more sense than giving to a desert that's half the size of Wales.

+1

Also, have a look at the open letter written by the Head of the Aussie FA; shocking doesn't cover it.

(Basically, they were encouraged to donate money to CONCACAF to help develop grass roots; they were asked for US$5M, gave US$500,000 which - all documented and transparently - they put into a CONCACAF account; later they found out that Jack Warner had basically stolen all of the money out of the account and put it into his own account).

John Whittingdale just sounds like an over eager puppy....If the Qatar vote is re-run, only those nations who actually bid should be allowed to take part. If Qatar do lose it, FIFA are hardly going to hand it over to us! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Warner's 'avalanche' of evidence!

The gift that keeps giving

FIFA apparently paid the FAI 5 million euros to not take legal action in the wake of Thierry Henry's hanball, that cost Ireland a WC place.

Looking forward to another Andrew Jennings' Panorama in a few months when the dust starts settling.

I love the way he has now decided 'sod it' and is going to unleash this 'avalanche' of evidence.....but still maintains that he was not aware of any corruption so therefore can't have been involved in anything corrupt.

And remember that The Sun wrote an open letter to FIFA apologising for Jennings' 'muck raking' of 'old' evidence and grovelling not to let the Panorama film put them off voting for England 2018. The BBC were also accused of being unpatriotic when they showed it just before the vote. Strange how those making those criticisms don't see so angry now.......

Not even in a few Months......

A BBC investigation has seen evidence that details what happened to the $10m sent from Fifa to accounts controlled by former vice-president Jack Warner.

The money, sent on behalf of South Africa, was meant to be used for its Caribbean diaspora legacy programme.

But documents suggest Mr Warner used the payment for cash withdrawals, personal loans and to launder money.

The 72-year-old, who has been indicted by the US FBI for corruption, denies all claims of wrongdoing.

Fifa says it is co-operating with the investigation.

And South Africa's Football Association has issued a detailed statement denying any wrongdoing.

The papers seen by the BBC detail three wire transfers by Fifa.

In the three transactions - on 4 January, 1 February and 10 March 2008 - funds totalling $10m (£6.5m) from Fifa accounts were received into Concacaf accounts controlled by Jack Warner.

At the time, he was in charge of the body, which governs football in North and Central America and the Caribbean.

The money had been promised by South Africa's Football Association for its so-called diaspora legacy programme to develop football in the Caribbean.

The documents reveal how the money was spent and moved around.

JTA Supermarkets, a large chain in Trinidad, received $4,860,000 from the accounts.

The money was paid in instalments from January 2008 to March 2009. The largest payment was $1,350,000 paid in February 2008.

US prosecutors say the money was mostly paid back to Mr Warner in local currency.

Huge sums of money were used to pay off credit cards and personal loans

The BBC gave details of its investigation to Brent Sancho, Trinidad and Tobago's sports minister and a former footballer.

He said: "He [Mr Warner] must face justice, he must answer all of these questions. Justice has to be served.

"He will have to account, with this investigation, he will have to answer for his actions."

The documents also show $360,000 of the Fifa money was withdrawn by people connected to Mr Warner.

Nearly $1.6m was used to pay the former Fifa vice-president's credit cards and personal loans.

The documents show the largest personal loan Mr Warner provided for himself was $410,000.

The largest credit card payment was $87,000.

Mr Sancho says he is now angry and disappointed.

"I'm devastated because a lot of that money should have been back in football, back in the development of children playing the sport.

"It is a travesty. Mr Warner should answer the questions," he added.

One of the leading people involved in England's world cup bid said on newsnight about a week ago that, contrary to popular belief, FIFA had nothing to do with England not winning and that we lost out as there is an issue between the PL and the FA that was unresolved and while it is unresolved it would not be possible for us to host it, hence we were not really considered in the end.

He didnt say what the issue was but if it remains then you assume we still cant host it.

I suspect if there hadn't been a problem like that we still wouldn't have won it given our popularity with FIFA. I'm not overly happy with claims that FIFA's corruption is why we didn't win the world cup hosting rights. Why other countries did, yeah, I buy that.
