tidus_mi2 genome is right, Rapid Wien are the biggest club in Austria, Red Bull Salzburg are very much the Man City of the Austrian League.

I guess it depends how you define 'biggest' - I was thinking biggest budget and greatest success nationally and internationally in recent years .... and that's Red Bull.

If you define it in terms of history/fanbase, then it's Rapid - sure. They truly have amazing fans - if you ever go to Vienna, it's a must to go and see them.

(great video from Europa league qualifying game away to Aston Villa a few years back)

So, would you call Man City a bigger club than say, Liverpool?

I think people are confusing the word 'bigger' with 'better', Man City are better than Liverpool but Liverpool are the bigger team, their history and fan base is still there despite it being 25 years since they last won the League. If the Saudi's got bored and stopped funding Man City tomorrow they would crash and burn, if I had to guess, I'd say their true size is around the Tottenham levels.

So would you say Portugal is bigger than the USA because Portugal has a more illustrious history? :D

I guess there are just different definitions of 'size' - hence why some clubs hate Reading so much because by their definition we're just a 'small' club, but playing above our station .... and clubs like Leeds think they're a lot bigger than clubs like Swansea or Stoke even though the latter have been in the Prem for last 10 years and Leeds have been going nowhere.

When I said RBS are 'bigger' than Rapid - I was talking in terms of 'budget' and recent history ... but I can see how in other ways that definition is wrong and of course Rapid are a much bigger (i.e. famous/illustrious) team than RBS who have just 'bought' success in last few years.

Saying that who would you say is the 'biggest' team in the UK?

Kombinationsspeil means combination play, if anyone wanted to know, so the link up play between the midfielders and forwards, and in the last 5 years if people can honestly say Liverpool are better then Man city then they've probably been watching Coventry and not known

Lacoste

So typical of the down's on this forum to start debating how to distinguish one clubs size to another on a thread about signing a striker.

HNA - Over analysing since its conception.

Think adidas is better than Lacoste FWIW ... because adidas is a bigger brand.

Asked Jenson Button that on a Q&A on twitter. He said they're both rubbish and he prefers Al Pacino films. Poor show.

Yes, Dick Tracy....anyway, back to Beric maybe? Are the Thai owners going to bankroll the purchase of this genuinely promising striker?
