God bless Clive and his services to keeping the thugs of Y25/26 seated. Let's hope that the new broom is as no nonsense and tough on the filthy, disgusting reprobates as Clive was.

I agree that offensive comments are pointless and not justified, especially as the individuals have never met the Safety Officer.

But equally calling Y25/26 "Thugs" is a silly thing. There has hardly been a physical clash of fans for many years and this is because most home and away fans just want to make a noise and enter into rivalry banter with the away fans. Football without fans vocal noise would be like watching a match sat at home alone and a most boring affair. I suspect that if Sandman attends a match it is on the opposite side of the pitch and not close enough to Y25/26 to give an informed opinion on the "Thugs".

The Stewards do a reasonable task to ensure crowd safety, but like most in authority positions can be too rule book focused sometimes in trying to make fans sit down, and actually cause a problem and confrontation with fans eager to watch a match and express some opinion. With a change of personnel I doubt if there will be drastic change as the current arrangements work, the main change needed is the public address system that is inaudible.
