I haven't got a solution myself, but I think the people suggesting we play wider are a bit misguided. There's no point launching balls into the box over and over to players that just simply aren't going to win headers. Unless we give Liburd a run in the team then (unlikely and probably way too soon for him), then this will be ineffective tactic.

Having width doesn't mean we just have to stand out wide and drop crap crosses onto centre halfs heads to clear danger. Good movement and good delivery will beat a 6'4 centre half easily enough but what we should be doing is working the ball wide, drawing defenders out, occasionally beating them and sometimes just delivering early if options are open.

We're far too predictable at the moment, far too one-dimensional and far too ponderous and it makes us too easy to defend against.

We need to add width, good movement and variation to our play and that won't happen if we just keep plodding along as we are.

I agree with the sentiment and DO look forward to taking my seat, nodding hello to the regulars around me, my half time chips, the rare occasion we score a goal, however, It's 3 hours each way for me front door to North Stand at the moment because of engineering works, and for the first time, half way through the second half on Monday it started to feel like a chore. We'd better bloody win agInst Bristol.

I'm not saying you should just blindly put on RTGs, at all. It's alright to discuss the good and the bad aspects of a performance including where the team went wrong and where it could be improved. I just don't find constant pessimism particularly productive or fun, like some people on here. I particularly don't understand those who never praise or get behind the team and only pipe up when things are going wrong. Weird.

Well, him and Gunter would form a good partnership.

Gunter is a lot more attacking when McCleary is on the wing. We used to see lots of overlapping runs, but now he clearly doesn't trust anyone to cover for him or provide support when he runs towards a couple of defenders. Yet another reason having McCleary on the left is such a stoopid idea

Gunter / McCleary fantastic link up play. Like Bigfoot, often talked about but never seen, has passed into folklore. Urban myth
Bit rich suggesting that Gunter doesn't trust the other defenders. Reality is, he moves forward, sees a midfielder coming towards him, bottles it and gets rid asap, either by a backward or sideways kick or hoofing up the other end irrespective of who's up there. Like a lot of others, seen it so many times now, no one will convince us otherwise.

Didn't say anything about him not trusting defenders, I'd say he doesn't trust the (right) midfield to fill in behind him. And quite rightly

And bollox to the folklore, saw the overlapping runs and high up support for McCleary's runs many a time.

And he would be rinsed on here if he tried to take on the oppo without support, lost it and we witnessed a break down our right
